Okay for extended stay

The only downside, there were very few English speaking staff. Very challenging at times. Also air conditioning wasn't turned on yet. Room very stuffy. Great workout spa facility.

Nice business hotel....

Posted Oct 20, 2015 on Hotels
I arrived at the Nikko in Shanghai late at night along with about 10 other guests....there was only one person checking everyone in....but quite a few people walking around....it was a very long check in process only to be followed by a long wait to get into the room because the key wouldn't work. The manager and busboy however really tried their best to help the situation. Thankfully the room was very nice, very comfortable and with a great bathroom and shower. Apart from that small incident the rest if the stay was fine.

Worst service ever - both hotels.com and the hotel

Posted Oct 16, 2015 on Hotels
Our booking was made with hotels.com for 8 nights in Nikko Hotel (Oct 9-17).We arrived Oct 9 past midnight just to find out the booking we've already paid 100% (USD 1.5K+), wasn’t in the system. The hotel manager took away my phone, inspected my confirmation email from hotels.com and went in a room for 15+ mins without asking for my permission; he then asked me to forward the email to their work + his personal email (weird) as he couldn’t find the record. After 30 mins of wait at the wee hr, they decided to just let us into a room and promised to look into it during daytime. The next day, we suggested them to connect with Hotels.com but they claimed they couldn’t reach as they didn’t have the number. I had to show them the hotline in my the confirmation email (the same email i forwarded them) and asked them to pls speak to hotels.com. We tried calling up ourselves and they quickly called up hotel, yet the hotel refused to talk to them as they were 'very busy'. We were out during daytime and when we got back at night, our access was denied. I firmly told the same manager the 3rd night (the same guy checking us in) to make sure our cards were unblocked as it's really annoying. Yet the access issue still went on for 6 nights. It’s now our last night and no one updated us and we still didn’t know what happened. Neither hotels.com nor Nikko hotel is feeling accountable for such ridiculous mess-up. Nikko’s staff is just blaming hotels.com and avoided the problem. HORRIBLE

Good hotel

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel! Staffs provided super level service and tried their best to make my stay in the most comfort level. Hotel may need some upgrade work as some of the facilities were quite out of date.
