Radisson Blu Xing Guo, Shanghai

We stayed there two weeks. Great Buffet breakfast with both western and asian fare. Didn't have dinner there. Bar had a small non somking area. Hotel staff spoke English and Concierge was adept at arranging cabs and giving the driver directions. Stay was in March 2016 so no A/C needed. TV had CNN, BBC, and HBO in English, all else was in Chinese. Hotel WiFi was available but VERY slow; good only for email.
The hotel is not in the immediate neighborhood of restaurants or shopping, however a short walk down the street will take you to these places. Area is quite safe at night so a night stroll back from restaurants is safe.
Be aware that in China smoking is allowed and higher end hotels try to accommodate non smokers. Our room was a non smoking room and we found no hint of smoking in our room or the hall ourside.
Also Google and Gmail do not work in China; they are blocked by the government. A work around is to use a VPN.
As this hotel is quite close to whom we were visiting and it was a quite nice property, we would stay there again.
