Regal Plaza Shanghai

Pros: The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The Deluxe Studio that I stayed at, it had an odd furniture layout. The layout was a bit distracting for me.
Location: There's not much nearby. Some shops and banks (helpful for me when I need an ATM) but in general mostly office buildings nearby.
I enjoyed my stay at the Regal Plaza in Shanghai. The subway station is close to the hotel. However, I forgot to check how far it is from the Hongqiao train station. It is very far from the Hongqiao train station, about an hour away by taxi from the train station. I do not recommend anyone this hotel if you are traveling to and from the Hongqiao train station. The room was clean and comfortable but the distance from Hongqiao train station is very far.

Clean and Tidy Hotel

Comfort and the hotel is nearby Waigaoqiao Trade Zone. Good location for business trip The breakfast is good!

Nice Hotel but not good wifi.

It was a great hotel for the price. very clean and comfortable. The room was nice and well designed. New and clean bathrooms and nice kitchen area. It is 40 minutes away from downtown (that's little far) if you are a tourist. The only complain I have is the internet. The in room wifi didn't work most of the time and got disconnected multiple time. It wouldn't let you connect to face-book at all. The hotel restaurants are not that great. It is very close to subway. The location of the address appears wrong in google map. So when you search on google map select the one says "Regal plaza hotel and residence SHANGHAI". If you take the metro Line-6 get off at Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone North and take Exit-1 you will see the hotel on your right. But you have to go around to pass the fence (~3 minute walk).

Lovely hotel but very far from central Shanghai

Pros: The massive two-bed apartment
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: This is the downside. This is at least 1 1/2 hours from central Shanghai and I'm not sure this was made clear when booking.There is a nearby Starbucks
This was a really lovely hotel with a massive two-bed apartment as our room and was highly satisfactory in every way. Staff were friendly, there was an English afternoon tea in the restaurant. However, we had not realised this was no-where near central Shanghai, but in the free trade zone. It was only an hour or so from the airport which was convenient but more like 1 1/2 hours to Shanghai, so this would not suit everybody. We actually found it pleasantly peaceful and relaxing, and were able to visit Shanghai for a day trip.

Very spacious room

Although there is a kitchen in room, cannot cook unless you pay extra to rent the kitchen implements. But the way, there is no sauna.

can't adjust heat individually was told pre setted and with adjust rightaway. one night as low as 17c, another night 17.5 c with outside temp as low 0 c. Room is not quiet enough with distributing sound

nice hotel if its not cold outside

Keeping rooms not heated on 7 degrees in winter is not comfortable. Even with AC the whole night in morning just 14 degrees

Very far from the city, and inconvenient to dining

The room itself was generally very comfortable and clean. The most disappointing experience during our stay at the hotel was dining in. As our stay at the hotel was a short stay, we did not include breakfast in our booking. We approached one of the stuff at the breakfast buffet to make enquiry as for the price per person. The staff advised us of the price, and we were asked our room number for her to prepare the invoice. She lead us to our table and handed us the invoice for signature, without any mention or alerting us that the buffet was closing as we were walking in. As we begin to approach the restaurants to get food, all the utensils have been taken away and the food had already packed up. We managed to get some bread and boiled eggs and nothing else. We expected to get the food and services for the price that we paid for. Not only we did not get much food but also a 15% service charge was charged to our bill with no service provided. The staff English was poor, which made it difficult to communicate for any compliant.
