No non-smoking rooms

Posted Mar 14, 2015 on Hotels
Went there because leaving early in the morning from the airport. I was told that it was a 4 stars, but frankly, the condition of this hotel is closer to a 3 stars, except for the hall. Upon checking in, I was informed that ALL the rooms were smoking, available or otherwise. Not what you would expect from an international 4 stars hotel, even in China (where smoking is endemic). They did provide a "anti-smoking treatment) promptly, even at 1AM, and their service was good, but as usual that "treatment" really means swamp the room (which was very small and had no window) with some odor. So, a keeper? Not really. At the price advertised, the only good reason to go there is if you are leaving early from the airport. Air China (the operator of the hotel) may also want to consider designating a few rooms as non-smoking.

Good rooms, poor service

Posted Mar 11, 2015 on Hotels
OK, so for a start off it would be useful to know the Hotels name in Chinese which is written as BOYUE, no one at the airport knew where the International Airport Hotel was located but they all know BOYUE. The entrance is on the 3rd floor near exit number 2. I read the many reviews before arriving but booked anyway as it was so close to the airport. Many other reviews complain about the staff and I have to agree, the desk staff were"efficient" but I managed because I have pretty good Chinese skills and a lot of experience of Chinese Hotel culture. For a first time visitor I think it would be a difficult experience. The rooms are good, large clean and comfortable. There is good noise insulation so you can barely hear the planes. However, twice the staff knocked on the door waking me up even though I had the "do not disturb" sign lit, once to ask if I had laundry and once to refill my teabags! Don't even consider complaining about this kind of thing in China you are wasting your breath. SO - nice hotel, good for the airport, standard poor service levels.

Great location to Hongqiao train/airport

Posted Dec 21, 2014
Hotel is in terminal 2. Great location to train station and airport. Breakfast is crazy expensive if not included in your room rate - $40 USD. Cost of breakfast is the only negative. Hotel is spotless and beds are super comfortable. I stay here all the time.
