Good hotel but the windows don't close tight and lots of street noise comes in, a no-no in busy Shanghai where many honk as frequently as they close their eyelids

Nice hotel with large room and living room area

The room was large, with comfortable beds. Lights and curtains were on a remote. TV was a smart TV. staff was friendly and helped us navigate the subway. The rugs could be replaced. The room was warm; AC did not work so I asked front desk for another room. They explained no AC yet because it was too early in the season! They sent up a maintenance man to unlock the window. This helped, but AC would have cooled the entire area.

Skyfortune was a disappointment

Pros: Not much
Cons: Cleaner rooms, better food, staff attitude and get some English speaking employees.
Location: No western food is within walking distance, except a KFC. Too far to walk to the Pearl Market and taxis are difficult to get at this location.
I visited this hotel in February 2014. The hotel has a very nice appearance from the outside but our visit was very disappointing. First of all, we ordered Club level rooms at a premium. Like many other China hotels, we thought this would include access to a "club" which would have a nice place to sit, meeting rooms, free beverages, etc. We later found out from the front desk "oh, we closed the club room 2 years ago". The room was nice and spacious, but the carpet was filthy with many stains. I was afraid to walk around in bare feet. The room was a very warm 27C, but changing the room temperature on the controls didn't cool the room down. If I just put on the fan, it just made the room warmer. The very few of the hotel staff spoke English which made communication difficult. Getting a taxi at this location is difficult as it would take an average of 20 minutes to get a cab. There were never any cabs waiting outside. Their breakfast is $100RMB and the food is mediocre. We noticed a number of hotel staff members at breakfast filling up their plates. I have never seen this at a hotel before. The hotel room was a reasonable $130RMB before tax, but I would never stay there again.

Worth a repeat visit

Pros: clean, spacious, good food
Cons: Lack of English language
Location: close to shopping and family
Overall our stay was pleasant. The suite was spacious. We were very pleased that the cleanliness of the hotel extended from the front door throughout the halls, elevators and into our room. Breakfast choices were numerous, the soups were delicious, but the omelettes were undercooked, therefore we had scrambled eggs instead. The main restaurant was great. All of our choices were delectable. One complaint that reasonated everywhere was the lack of English. The staff tried their best. The concierge and front desk were better than housekeeping and the restaurants staff, but we all smiled and tried again. I would stay here again. The spa was very expensive, so save your money and go down the street. There are lots of massage establishments at a quarter of the cost. The pool and gym were clean and not busy. We were off season (March) so the rates were very good. The hotel is within a twenty or so minute walk to the Silk/Pearl market, so shopping is great. A taxi ride to the Bund is approximately 40-60 RMB ( less than $10) depending on traffic. Also about a 30 minute walk to the expat area with a lovely pedestrian walk with lots of great restaurants but beware the shopping is pricey.
