We stayed at the Tsuruga resort and Shikotsu and thought the brand should provide us with assurance that it will be a nice stay. We were not proven wrong. The environment was fantastic and the food was great (half board). However this is an older property and thus not as modern looking as the one at Shikotsu. I am sure to check out other Tsuruga resorts on the island.

It was an amazing stay at MorinoUta. We chose buffet at dinner but it was one of the best buffets ever. Atmosphere and facilities are also great. I definitely visit there again. This hotel was an excellent value for money.

Nice onsen hotel
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Service: Mr. Takeyama at the front gate was really nice and came down to help us move the bag in the snow when we were coming in. Ms. Minoshima at the front desk was friendly, spoke good English, and was clear when we had any questions. Food: The buffet restaurant was much better than I expected. My family also enjoyed different kinds of menu during the stay. Onsen & Lobby: The outdoor onsen was an interesting experience, and recommend trying it. My child especially enjoyed the marshmallow time at the lobby. Room: Deluxe Japanese & Western style Room was very clean with a good view. They also prepared a robe for each of my family with a different size.

Don't judge the book by it's cover!
To my surprise, despite looking like it was built in the 70s. Interior is very modern and up to date. There must've been a major renovations a short while ago. So many gimmicks hidden here and there. But the biggest pros are dinner. The dinner was fusion Japanese, although I was expecting authentic japanese cuisine, don't mind that...because EVERY DISH were excellent! Also while dining, the deer decided to show up outside the dinner room windows. Indoor Onsen was old but outdoor area was beautiful. We can't see the gorge from our room and any public area in the hotel but that's ok. The staff are great. They even vallet my car and had the car ready at the lobby door step when I checked out. All and all I will definitely stay here again next time.

Beautiful Experience
Beautiful hotel interior with a cosy fireplace that charms you with marshmellows to warm your heart. Staff are great too. Tracked my iPad that was lost. Great choice for those who do not wish to stay in the city. It's about an hour away from Sapporo.

Nice onsen. Good for travellers who drive.
It is quite a high class hotel and therefore attracted tour group, which was unfortunately noisy. For the elegant design of the hotel, should be more enjoyable to have a more relaxing and quiet atmosphere. The onsen was very nice and not too crowded, as there are rooms in this hotel with private onsen. Good for travellers who drive as transportation was not convenient, hotel shuttle do not stop at Sapporo, but at a train station 20 minutes away from it. Will choose a different hotel with direct shuttle connection. Due to the tour group, our dinner time was assigned at the last slot, for buffet dinner, feeling that the refill of food was not well managed and some dishes like leftover.
