Nice central location

Great location, good and attentive staff, eateries all around the neighborhood. Expect no views, next to a rail station.

Good service and neat room.

The front desk was very helpful and kind, the room was spacious and clean, and the maids have done an excellent job in fixing the room each morning.

Cozy little hotel, very close to transit!

Posted Mar 11, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: The smell of cigarette smoke is pretty prominent
Location: It's right across from the train station.
The check in experience was a breeze. Location was great, super close to food, shops and the trains. Room is very small, but typical of Japanese rooms. Bathroom also very small, but has all that you need. Overall a pleasant stay. We would return!

Excellent location - 200 meter walk Takadanobaba train station. Numerous places to eat at reasonable prices. Great for the budget traveller. Hotel staff was extremely polite and helpful.

Affordable Hotel Near Takadanobaba Station

Posted Jan 7, 2017
Cons: They've installed Wi-Fi in all the rooms, which is great, but at night the router's blinking lights are a problem.
Location: Opposite a shopping centre and the station which is 4 minutes from Shinjuku. Lots of small traditional restaurants catering to people on a budget.
I've stayed in Hotel Sunroute Takadanobaba twice now (7 years apart!) and I've had no problems. It's across the road from the station which is only two stops from Shinjuku on the main Yamanote Line meaning it has some good transport links. The staff speak good English and the two problems I had (Wi-Fi stopped, left my key in the room) were resolved without any problems. I've always ended up arriving before check-in and they're happy to keep your bags. The hotel is not filled with facilities and Baba is caters a lot to Waseda University students, meaning it is not the most luxurious place in the world, but if you want a cheap place to stay and don't plan on living inside your hotel for your trip it's a great place.

Good stay neighbourhood

Posted May 28, 2016 on Hotels
The plan was to stay in takadanobaba for its proximity to train station. Activities were elsewhere in Tokyo. This decision was so good that the family has planned for a repeated arrangement. Neighbourhood was packed with great eateries without the overwhelming hype.
