Room 11 was very spacious clean and comfortablePosted Oct 28, 2017
The room and bathroom were very roomy and well furnished. The noise from street level quietened down after 11.00pm. The location was excellent. Did not have breakfast or dinner. The Brakspear group seem to be more “pubs with rooms” rather than hotels and resemble another large chain of similar premises which can be disappointing if you don’t realise this when booking.

Driving trip through UK to visit friends and family. Loved the look for this hotel. Room 8 had a serious slope in every direction you could find. Perhaps levelling the bed base? We have stayed in a lot of old buildings in Europe and the UK in the past 2yrs, and this was the most seriously uneven floor we have encountered. The decor was lovely both in the public areas and bedrooms, really enjoyed it.. Well done. Felt very luxurious. Loved the shower!

Nice Hotel, poor Staff, no Management.Posted Jul 6, 2017 on Hotels
Being woken up by workmen talking loudly and swearing early in the morning was not great. Then having to put up with same workmen drilling during breakfast. Closing the bar at 10 pm was a novel experience. A Hotel run for the benefit of the staff not the client.
