A nightmare. Terrible experience.

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Honesty. Complete overhaul.
It looks like if you book through Expedia you are given the worst rooms at this hotel. We were given 3 rooms that were completely unexceptable. One was next to a barking dog and two knocked you over from smoke. Finally the 4th barely passed as there was hair on the air condition grate and chairs. Even the refrigerator had milk in it from who knows how long. Towels should be thrown out because of stains. Hotel is run down and seems to be the place to stay if you have pets. A security charge was put on our credit card upon registration without our knowledge. Upon discovery within half an hour a talk with the manager resulted in having to call Expedia. The representative spoke to the manager and he was to credit our card but we are still waiting to see if the transaction goes through. The manager tried to blame Expedia for double billing us but it was clear from the charges to my account that the charge had come from the hotel. There was no denying.

first and last time staying at this hotel

The place needs serious update or cleaning/fixing. Since our room is very close to the stairwell, we were using that a lot. The stairwell has hard rubber flooring - it is hot and filled with the smell of the rubber out-gas. The AC frame is cracked so it makes constant rattling sound. It literally kept everyone awake at night. We rest a backpack on top to keep it from rattling so we can get some sleep. One of the two bathroom lights is out. The carpet is filthy - don't walk around barefooted. The guy at the front desk is nice. But he is also the same guy prepping the breakfast. Breakfast is skimpy. The only hot food is the waffle, rest is just crappy packaged carbs. On the weekend hash brown and gravy were served. but 45 minutes before breakfast ended, many things were gone and the guy attending the breakfast area wasn't refilling them, even though there were two other families came in after us. He kept putting more napkins, utensils, cups but not the food. The only good thing is that the TV works and the bed is comfortable. It's good for one night stay if you can put up with broken stuff and don't care for breakfast.

Pros: The staff
Location: Location was ideal and a little ways away from the noise of town. Town had a nice assortment of restaurants for such a small town. Cafe recommended
Very clean and staff was helpful and friendly. Very quiet. A/C very noisy which necessitated turning off for the night. Outside temp cooled off so didn't need the a/c anyway.

Great handicapp accessible room

The room was truly handicap accessible. The shower wand was hand held which is good. It was great to see soap holders built into the tub area. My only complaint is that the wall to the tub is sort of tall to climb into. I am only 5"4" and it was a bit of a stretch for me. Bed was super comfortable and the room size was more than adequate.

Big disappointment

Pool was of order. In the middle of remodel, rolls of carpet in hall ways, wet paint everywhere. The place was almost empty. I had to walk the halls to find the front desk clerk. Key cards would not open door to room.

Overall worth the stay

Pros: The hotel is continuing their remodeling efforts which is adding to update it more.
Cons: The breakfast could use a couple more fruit selections and add Greek yogurt to the mix. However, in a pinch for a basic continental style breakfast it
Location: Hiking, sight seeing, casino, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the updated rooms. The bed comfortable although the smaller pillows not so much. Since we didn't bring our own, we went further into town and bought a couple. The indoor pool and spa was one big reason we chose this hotel. Although the pool heater wasn't fully functioning, the spa made up for it.
