I have stayed at this hotel on a couple occasions and actually enjoyed it. I was on a business trip this time and was concerned about a particular "odor" when I first entered the room. I suspect someone might have smoked in the room and housekeeping tried to mask the odor. I checked in close to midnight after traveling and was very tired, so did not ask for a room change. I am a non-smoker and would never request a smoking room.
After returning to the room in the late afternoon the next day, it was apparent that housekeeping had not been there as the bed was not made up and towels were on the floor in the bathroom. I called housekeeping to inquire this issue and was told that they did not come in because I left the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door in the hallway, which was NOT TRUE. I ALWAYS remove the sign from the door in the morning to prevent housekeeping from using this as an excuse to not make my room. But this young woman was insistent that I left the sign on my door, although it was not on the door when I returned either. She deliberately lied to me and would not accept my assertion that the sign was not out. I will not forget this incident (has never occurred to me in all my years of traveling). I suspect that housekeeping was either understaffed or someone was having a bad day and didn't want to do their job. She advised me that the managers of that department had already left for the day.
