Nice hotel in nice areaPosted Nov 11, 2015
Pros: Very nice hotel and very nice staff. Good size rooms, Great breakfast, Great location. Good price.
Cons: Nothing. It was wonderful as it was.
Location: 20 min to trains and on edge of old city so quiet at night. All attractions, restaurants, shopping within 10-15 min walk. A perfect location.
Lovely hotel, lovely varied breakfast. 20 min to trains. You have to ride 10 escalators up from trains to town. That is an experieince in itself. Smaller than Florence but lots to see and do. Main piazza, Fortezza Medici, churches, parks, views of countryside, restaurants. We were there for fall wine tasting festival. For 15 euros got to taste 50 different wines at least and given crystal wine glass to keep. Not many tourists either. Lovely city.

Very clean, central with easy walking to the PalioPosted Oct 31, 2015
Pros: Perfect location, very clean, attentive staff, great fresh Italian breakfast, reasonable price.
Cons: Firm up the beds, firmer mattress. They do not use boxed spring bottoms.
The front desk staff Barbara & Simeon (spelling) really made our 9 days stay great with maps, where & when to go places. Our 4 th floor clean, all marble tiled room had big dark shutters & drapery that opened up to the beautiful sunny morning Tuscan sun view of the Duomo & San Dominica. Beautiful breakfast room, breakfast well worth it. A tour group sponsored by Rick Steves of TV travel show fame stayed 2 nights. Easy to find the hotel by following the soccer ball signs with near parking across @ the soccer field (stadio). Walkable right into beautiful oldtown Sienna pedestrian area with the big attraction, Il Palio. A bus stop in front of hotel, 2 blocks to central bus station, 2-3 miles walk to trains. All of Tuscany is minutes out into countryside if you drive & follow the dreaded Italian signage. Front desk helped a lot with routes & maps.

Pros: Location, close to the bus station
Location: Siena attractions are all within walking distance
This was a lovely local hotel in a great location in Siena. Everything was in walking distance, and the bust stop was just around the corner. The included breakfast, although typical of many European breakfasts, was quite good. We ate one night in the hotel restaurant and had a very good meal. There are many other good restaurants however, just within a few blocks walking distance. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed, albeit somewhat small. This however, was not an issue for us as we spent little time in the room during our stay. There is no elevator at this hotel, but we were only on the 2nd floor and the front desk clerk helped us bring our luggage to our room. I would certainly stay here again, and highly recommend Hotel Chiusarelli to anyone visiting Siena.

We had a problem and this fine hotel helped out.Posted Oct 22, 2015
Pros: Clean, comfortable and great breakfast.
Cons: Street noise
Location: Great restaurant, very close to other restaurants. Right next door to Basilica Cateriniana di San Domenico
We mistakenly left our passports, some money and some credit cards in the room safe and did not notice until we had traveled a long ways away on early morning train. A very amateur mistake. The front desk was called, they checked the room and had our belongiings couriered to our new destinations. It all arrived safe an sound. Thanks so much Hotel Chiusarelli!

Convenient to the best area in SienaPosted Oct 21, 2015
Pros: Great location and wonderful breakfast buffet!
Siena was by far my favorite city in Italy, out of the 7 we visited. It's beautiful, clean, everything is within walking distance, great shops, and the BEST food and wine we had on our trip! We enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere and beautiful scenery. The hotel was quaint. It was clean, and our first reception was a pleasant experience. The gentleman was very kind and informative. The man on the day shift was not so pleasant or helpful. He actually seemed annoyed when we asked where they served breakfast, and even pretended like he didn't understand what we were saying. He sent my husband the wrong direction, and then acted aggravated when he came back again to clarify the direction. There was no signage pointing us to the location, which was down a flight of stairs and in another area. The gentleman that worked the night shift was enjoyable. He helped us with our Italian. As far as the hotel room, it was adequate. It had everything we needed, and it was clean. I would recommend they upgrade their bed and bedding covers. The bed needed some padding ( I could feel the springs), and the cover looked like it had a good 30 years of use. Although the sheets were clean, the covers made the bed feel a little dirty to me.

Pros: Best location ever to visit Siena!
Cons: Fluffier pillows would be great.
Location: Close to walking distance to all the major galleries and attractions. Great to be so close to the Campo and choice of restaurants
The staff was very helpful and patient with our broken Italian. Relatively quiet for such a central location.
