The hotel has made it as clear as possible given the set-up limitations on Expedia to ensure guests are aware of all possible information regarding the hotel, including our location on the second floor and our room layouts. We always welcome any inquiries about the hotel that guests may have.Because 2 of the 9 rooms in the hotel DO share an external bathroom, we have tried to clarify this by TITLING all rooms on Expedia according to their room type and second floor location, for example “Shared Bath - Single Queen - Second Floor”, and we advise future guests to read their room title carefully when booking to ensure they reserve their preferred room-type. Being a historical property, the hotel does not have an elevator, however this is also stated under Expedia's hotel amenities/accessibility section “Upper floors accessible by stairs only” and staff are actually more than happy to help bear up luggage if asked or the offer accepted. As a final note for guests, elevation does NOT age discriminate. Any person who comes from a lower elevation can be affected by the thinner air, and whether or not one is affected cannot be known prior to arrival. Hi Terese,We are sorry you found the website unclear. The entire hotel (including all rooms) is located 25 steps up on the second floor (no elevator), keeping true to the building's original heritage design, with shops underneath. There are handrails in the staircase to assist guests, and reception staff are more than happy to help with bags.Best regards.
