Wonderful view of the castle and cathedral lit up at night. The staff very kind and helpful. To save water especially in the Algarve, not necessary to change towels daily, in some hotels guests leave towels on the floor if they want them washed and I'd suggest new covers for the armchairs and sofas in the lounge area

Majority of staff were amazingly helpful and went over board to assist. Only 1 man on reception when i advised my access to my room wasnt working was some what dismisdive advising me it was my user error and did not come to assist until i visited him 2nd time and advised it still was not working ...Other reception and security were incredibly polite and assisting

It has some charm but...
The view is beautiful, and the location is excellent, and there are not a lot of options in Silves. But it felt a little grimy and if you suffer from allergies I wouldn't stay here beyond a night. The place needs a deep clean, and it would make one feel more welcome to have access to tea and coffee, if not in the rooms, at least in the lobby.

Excellent location. The view at night on the castle side is beautiful. Probably needs some modernisation. TVs in rooms are tiny. Not enough wall sockets.

The hotel was pleasant, with friendly staff. I found there was not enough drawers in the room to put clothes, I had to leave clothes in my suitcase. There needs to be information sheets in the room reminding you what time breakfast is and that you can buy coffee anytime after breakfast during the day. breakfast was good with plenty to eat. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would return.

It will drive you buggy.
Careful not to book a room on the highway... noise. We changed our room to the side of the hotel facing the castle. The building needs some TLC. There were ants on a table next to the window. Ants in the bathroom sink area. Ants came into the room under the balcony door. Bed bug found. The staff carry bug spray on the housekeeping trollies. The regular day desk clerk, older fellow, is weak in the PR department. The property feels unhealthy, could be yhe bug spray. Breakfast buffet never changed while we were there. We wouldn't recommend this property at the price they charge, and definitely not for more than 1 night.

Out of season, out of sorts. 3 night stay in October and no great welcome from staff or interest/engagement and equally with not a lot for them to do seemed to keep it that way for selves. Hotel is nicely situated to walk into Silves to do the tourist trail and nice local places to eat. The hotel had little to offer other than view across. Don’t accept 207 or rooms either side as you will be wakened early with breakfast service as dining directly above rooms and dragging and screeching of chairs on floors is constant so no lie in. The room was big , basic , good hot running water and clean. There was no restaurant service other than breakfast which was ok but nothing remarkable. I say in my reviews the acid test is would I return, in this case no as it felt as if I troubled the lazy staff by turning up sorry to have disturbed.

A lovely hotel. I had a pleasant stay. The hotel is kept very clean. Travelled from Faro Airport to Faro City on the number 16 bus, then on the train to Silves, then walked about 20 minutes from the train stop to the hotel. A nice, peacful location, and about 5 minutes walk to the shops/bars. There are bus services to go to other places and taxi/Uber services available. I used Uber and it was very good and reasonable. If you want the nightlife you will need to go to other neighbouring towns, such as, Portimao and Albufeira. It is about 15 minutes in the taxi to Armacao de Pera beach. Overall, this is a lovely hotel that has a clean outdoor pool, they provide a continental breakfast each morning, they also have a bar. A suggestion would be for the hotel rooms to have tea/coffee or a mini fridge.

Hotel provided a relaxing weekend after a week with family including 5 grandchildren. Room was fine and the hotel had good facilities, with pool, and was convenient for exploring the old town, a few minutes' walk away over the river, where we could visit the sites, explore the streets and also dine in local restaurants. Only problems, which were minor, were ants around the pool at times and the breakfast croissants were a little hard,

Superb views
Have stayed in this hotel many times and love it. Some may say it's basic, but it has a certain charm. The view across to the castle and cathedral is breathtaking. The nesting storks are fascinating to watch.

Great location, friendly staff and great breakfast. Yes, the rooms are a bit dated, but our balcony had an amazing view of the ruins and was walking distance from downtown. We ended up staying another night because we liked it so much. Great jumping off point.
