Good value in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Posted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: Location; cleanliness; cost.
La Quinta Newbury Park has been our default hotel whenever we visit our family. We do look for others, but know we can always fall back on the quality of La Quinta for a great price. The room has always been clean; the bed comfortable, the breakfast is substantial, and staff has been very accommodating. It is not the top end of the hotel lines in the area, but we did stay at a more expensive hotel one time and were disappointed and knew we got the same, if not better, satisfaction from La Quinta. It does seem to be a hotel that some construction companies use to have their workers stay at. I would recommend it without hesitation.

Ok Hotel if you are desperate for a room

Posted Aug 18, 2015
I figured this wouldn't be a 5-star hotel but didn't think it would not even be a 2-star one. It's in Newbury Park/Thousand Oaks so was hoping location mattered! The Pros: - Clean room - Nice check in staff - Free breakfast The Cons: - The clientele! Had to walk through two people smoking in the hallway to get to my room (That should have been a red flag when they asked me if I wanted a smoking or nonsmoking room...didn't even know that was an option these days!) Really were there that many people staying here to have a massive pool party that rolled into a nice get together outside my room? Think the whole neighborhood was invited. It's apparently a pet friendly hotel, which would be awesome if I had pets!! I was woken up very early on a SUNDAY multiple times to a chorus of dogs howling, fighting, and barking! Seriously is there a dog show going on?!? - we were very excited to see an A/C in the room since it was so hot out. But come to find out, setting the temperature to 63 really meant it automatically regulated the room anywhere from -75 degrees to 140!!! Not to comfortable for sleeping, obviously!! I would not stay here again even if the price was right!

Nice hotel

When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile and there were no problems with my reservation. The gentleman asked if I preferred any particular floor. I am glad he asked. My friend had a sore knee. Room was comfortable. Will stay again if I am in the area.

Easy to find and nice place to stay.

We enjoyed the very courteous staff. Our room was clean but we had no kleenix and the bathroom doorknob needed attention. We had a handicap fitted room that we didn't need but appreciated the excellent bathroom handgrip in the shower. Breakfast was very appreciated and a money saver. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

loud pool parties with food and booze

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: staff
Cons: noise and chaos of megochikdren, party-animals and dogs
till late at night even tho the posted rules said no food/drink and no occupancy in pool and surrounding area after 9 pm. the barking dogs are also irritating. even this place is next door to the fwy. the children, partying and dogs were the problem. then Sunday morning, the conference room was used by a church congregation with amplified music (loud) so, no sleeping in to make up for a poor nights sleep.

Clean it up!

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Location to theatre.
Cons: Maintain the facility.
Location: Right near theater district.
The grounds were in very poor condition. There were leaves and trash all over the campus, numerous piles of dog doo around the grounds. Rooms were moderately clean. Carpet had several large stains. Lobby bathroom was filthy on two different uses.

Pros: Location & pool
We were on a family vacation. Room was in good condition. It had a musty smell but they fixed that the next day. Staff was helpful. Pool was nice. Breakfast was basic but it got re-stocked quickly.
