Ideally located

Close to all amenities casinos transport grocery pharmacy shopping beaches. They could do with a 24 hr snack bar at the hotel for the late night munchies And also a better stocked pool bar as by noon most of the cocktails mixes we finished and not replenished

Disappointed

Cons: Everything. Need to teach their staff to be kinder.
Location: Nothing.
We waiting in line 30 minutes before we could check in and the staff at the front desk was just plain rude. We went to our room to find the accommodations to be fair. Not as nice as places we have stayed before. The first night I went to take a shower and found no water. Called the hotel front desk and no one answered. Called maid service, the had no direct line to maintenance and was told they had to empty their water supply and had to fill the tank back up. Water did come back on but was cold. I didn't enjoy a cold shower at all. One night the power went out. The food choices for all inclusive was awful. You had to make reservations. Most all of the staff on this resort were rude to down right hateful. There were a few staff members that were nice but few and far between. The pool had no markings to let you know the depth and was very rough. It was like being in the ocean. Didn't like it at all and will not stay there every again.

Not Bad, but not Amazing

The hotel wasn't as bad as I expected. It was very beautiful, especially the beach. I have no complaints about the hotel itself. The only thing is that some of the staff isn't as nice. There are waitresses who are extremely caring and nice, but then there are those who are just lazy and make it obvious that they don't care and don't want to be working right now. The rooms are amazing, super comfortable. There isn't many food options, but it's not bad food. The food is actually really great and delicious.

Would go back to St. Martin but not Sonesta

Location: 2 minute drive from the airport, could walk to where the planes land. It was cool and wasn't annoying or loud at all.
The beach was beautiful. The food and drinks were great especially for an all inclusive resort. The resort needs major updating. The closet door in our room was broken, our view was a rooftop where people worked and stored fencing and other things. Our shower head didn't work and we could only use the handle part which sprayed EVERY WHERE. The staff wasn't friendly nor helpful. There wasn't anything going on at night at all. Everything closed down early and there was nothing to do. The excursions were either not available, full or canceled everyday. I would definitely go back to St. Martin but i wouldn't stay there again.

Don't stay at this hotel!

Pros: I liked the bar staff, the pool area, and the beach
Cons: On the website, it states that you have access to 3 pools, but that is only for people staying at The Point, not the Maho. False advertising
Location: I liked the bars near by and the ATV excursion was fun
I wish I could say my experience at the Sonesta Maho was a pleasant experience because at first glance, everything was great; nice room, close to the beach, nice pool area. However, soon we realized that was not the case. We were staying on the 8th floor and construction was being done on the entire 6th and 7th floors. On the third day of our stay, construction workers hit a water pipe and the entire hotel did not have water for 2 hours. This was at 6 pm, when everyone was trying to take a shower and get ready to go dinner, but couldn't and our plans had to be significantly delayed. It was a huge inconvenience and the hotel staff did absolutely nothing to make the situation better. Then, that same night, the air conditioning in our room stopped working. The temperature reached 85 degree in our hotel room. At 10 pm, I spent an hour and a half arguing with the general manager to please do something about it because my husband and I could barely sleep. Finally, he gave us a hotel room in the adjacent hotel for the night. Our air conditioning never really worked the entire time we were there, never getting below 71 degrees. We received no compensation for the lack of water. Although I did really enjoy the island of St. Martin, I would never stay at the Sonesta Maho again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Horrible experience

No AC for our entire stay, they brought us a fan! How nice, didn't have water for a couple hours on 2 different days, and the toilet didn't flush properly...just terrible

Very Disappointed, All Inclusive big negative!

Pros: location
Cons: no casino credit for 3rd party booking. Understaffed, long lines for eating, only two onsite restaurants, fair at best. All inclusive is misleading
Location: Best area of SXM
Off season stay, understaffed, management had a take it or leave it attitude that rubbed off on most staff.
