The property is visibly aged, after all it is Was built over 60 years ago. They also have mediocre amenities, which include the mattress, which is old and terribly uncomfortable. I would recommend that if you have an extended stay, at least buy a memory foam mattress pad for a $100 to save yourself from some uncomfortable nights. The decor is also quite dated and dingey, so if your most comfortable in lavish arrangements, this may be a shock to your system lol.
But in spite of Portside's limitations (which fixing would require minimal investment on behalf of management), there is one overwhelming reason to visit again- and that is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!
The real asset of Portside is that it sits directly on the water where the Riviera Beach Inlet meets the Atlantic. The scene provides the tranquility of ocean breezes and lapping waves, coupled with the view of nautical recreation that is a mainstay of Florida life. The pool at Portside, where we spent most of our days, is positioned adjacent to the water, surrounded by mature coconut trees and lavish foliage, which provide shade from the Florida sun virtually all day. We were lucky enough to visit during the week and enjoyed Portside's majesty in uninterrupted peace and solitude. Just what we needed after a busy week in WPB!
