Horrible expeirence

Posted Jul 27, 2016
Pros: The beach and the staff who were serving food/drinks
Cons: management...the menu's ...and def upgrad the looks of the hotel.
Location: There was not much to do ...the casino and Tantra were the best things to do there
The night manager was too busy to speak to me, the elevator mirror was dirty the entire stay, the pics on line did not match up with the actual hotel ...it was a run down poverty looking hotel on the inside.. we booked for 2 double beds however, they gave us a king bed and had to wait 30 mins or more for them to correct the prob. the ice maker did not work on our floor.and most of all the salad every evening was rotten , the lettuce was brown, tomatoes and cucumber was rotten every night. I would never go back there and would not refer anyone there... the food was disgusting and apparently everyone on the island knows of this to be true even the lady on the plane said she had friends stay there and the food was horrible.

A ok hotel but no perfect

Posted Jul 25, 2016
This trip was to celebrate my birthday we arrived on Tuesday greeted with a cold towel and Champaign our room was ready so I was very excited to get really to enjoy our 1st day in St Maarten. once were in the room to take there's no towels. When we came back from the beach and was ready to sit down on the bed there was blonde woman's hairs (I have braids) on the bed made it seem that the didn't use clean sheets. Then fast forward to breakfast the next morning I see a roach crawling on the area where the juices are and fruit. It was just getting bad but again this is my birthday trip that we paid alot for So we said let's make the best of it. So again no towels had to make several calls just for a towel. Ok now let's talk about the food... Its was ok not bad but everytime I was hungry the pizza place was closed had to go off the resort and spend my vacation money just to eat.. The best thing about this trip was Ms Anna she made my birthday very special and I will always have that memory and where we ate dinner.. Skipjack simpson bay .... Thanks Bae

The room and facilities

Posted Jul 22, 2016
Upon entering our room we were greeted by a roach/bug. After killing the roach my husband took the dead ins ct to the manager and they quickly reassigned us to another room. Food was good except Wednesday dinner time when the buffet is closed.

Great location

Great room w awesome view. Right on beach and can walk to many other stores and bars. I would suggest renting a jeep to tour the island as well.

A WEEK IN PARADISE

Posted Jul 20, 2016
Pros: Hotel grounds were laid out for easy access to everything.
Cons: The restaurants for dinner should re-evaluate their menus.
Location: Saw both the French & Dutch sides - went jet skiing and shopping on the Dutch side and wine & food tasting on the French side.
I've travelled to more than half the islands in the Caribbean & West Indies - This trip rates in the top five islands to visit.

Overall the trip was great!... only problem we had was we could hear the people in the next room banging against the wall, also there was other guest screaming across the halls in the middle of the morning. Other than that it was a good trip!

Excellent experience at Sonesta Maho

Posted Jul 4, 2016
My husband and I went with our 5 year old daughter for her birthday. The hotel staff was friendly and super helpful during our stay. We stayed in one of their newly renovated rooms which was always maintained cleaned and had an excellent view of the pool, beach and arrival of planes. They had quite a few selections of restaurants but wish they had more. The drinks were incredible and the hotel offered top shelf liquor. The only downfall was the construction that was taking place at the hotel and due to this the children's pool was closed. Nonetheless, I would recommend this hotel to everyone as I'm sure they will have a pleasant stay.
