Fine place for the price. Pleasant service, although my wake-up call was not made. Not much for breakfast. Can of pop for $2 is way too high. Wish the outside doors were locked, since a homeless guy was hanging out when I got back around 10 p.m.

Large room, old and ofd smells. Hair found in bed before we got in, definitely there from pervious people. Didn't try the breakfast. Our original hotel had a pipe burst so this was better than sleeping in my car...

The room was hot, AC was not turned on and windows were open. The water had been shut off to the toilet. There were no bath towels in room when we arrived. The staff was pleasant and helped but room was unacceptable.

The facility was in disrepair. The bathroom had water stains on the ceiling where there was an apparent leak. The couch was dirty, as well as the bedding. There was a consistent sour smell to the building.

Absolutely horrible experience. Room was dirty when we checked in, looked as if only the bed was made and nothing else cleaned. Splatters on the floors and walls, broken furniture, 2 types of smoke smell clearly evident. Homeless individuals camped on the back sidewalk, hotel smelled extremely poor. We did not stay the night because it seemed so unsafe and uncleanly. Hotel refused a refund or any alternative solution. Multiple other customers at the front desk having the same issues when we went to the lobby.

When booking we saw the reviews were poor, but it was the only available option, and we thought how bad can it really be?! We checked in (reluctantly) went to the back door of property for entry to access our room. There were homeless people with shopping carts, bbq grill, picnic table stationed right at that entry. The entire hotel reeked of marijuana. The locking mechanism on the back entrance was broken. We returned our key, and the key for our daughters room to the front desk to let them know we did not feel safe and we would not be staying. Asked for a refund and were refused. Also contacted Expedia and they refused to make it right as well. We unfortunately had no choice but to drive over 100 miles to find an alternative. Absolutely Atrocious Facility!

When we checked into the room, we were given a key for a certain room, and when we entered that room, it was already occupied. And another couple that we were with on our trip were in their room, and someone walked in on them because the front desk gave them a key for another room that was already occupied also. The rooms were not the cleanest found dirty socks under one of the beds. Hotel floors were dirty the dressers were missing dresser poles the upkeep of the hotel could be better. Lots of holes and drywall in random places in rooms.

Says pet friendly infact was not. Was told to leave and come back the next day for pets on weekend. Definitely not a safe feeling place for young wedding attendants. Should have done better research of the place before booking. Thankfully I purchased the insurance.

Good news bad news.
The hotel is older, and apparently the heat/air was not working. (not needed, temperature-wise) Carpet was new, but many aspects of the room were worn or broken. The bed was very comfortable. Room was clean and quiet...except for the 2:00 am train! (not the hotel's fault) The breakfast was good. The price for the stay was in line with the property and very reasonable.

Decent place if all you need is a bed and shower
I was in town for a funeral and stayed 3 nights. It was after 10 when i arrived and it took 5 minutes for some one to come check me in. The property is older and is due for some updating, but the room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Would stay again

When I called to inform the hotel that I ran into traffic and was expecting to arrive at 2am, the staff member on the phone (I called around 8pm) told me that because that expected arrival time was after midnight, I should cancel my stay via Orbitz. Utterly ridiculous. I had to speak to another staff member and demand that my protest be communicated to the hotel owner in order to have my reservation honored so I could be admitted to my room at 2am. They committed to hold my room only after I spent a considerable amount of time on the phone pressing for consideration that is entirely common and routine in the hotel industry. My recommendation to ANYONE considering this hotel is to pass. There are national chain hotels in Le Mars — book with them and skip this place for peace of mind.

The room was large and bed was comfortable. The complementary breakfast was more than I was expecting, The only concern is that when I made the reservation it was listed as an EconoLodge, If I had't asked for directions in LeMars I wouldn't have known the name had changed to LaMars Inn and probably would have had a hard time finding it given that I arrived late after a long drive,

Crazy shower
Lol, the removable shower head would not stay attached and sprayed everywhere. I let it go wild and just sprayed off when I was done. We started with no towels, but the manager brought them to us when we called.

Our all shower heads and removable are working in perfect condition. We do housekeeping every day and provide bed and bath linens at the time of room cleaning.

This sounds not correct. We have no beds at the front desk/reception. Our staff is very professional and greets and welcome every guest. Moreover, we do not have the guest name in our guest history. We take care of all guests and work to their full satisfaction. Thank you.

This is a basic hotel without extra amenities. It is also located well off the beaten path However it does serve the needs for that local community. I should also point out that the room was clean We had a unique circumstance when we arrived late at night. The owner had taken ill and his friends were attempting to take care of guests. It was not an easy job and I have to salute them for their efforts

Our Hotel is very clean and have had no complain about bugs. The property is recently remodeled and rooms are very clean. Housekeeping is done on daily basis and we have had no complain of what so ever about this. The property is very clean and bug free. The anonymous complain is created because of the summer rate and we remember someone asking discount credit on the room rate which we did not accept and let them go.

The picture on Expedia site is old and not a true representation of the hotel in its current state. Strong alcohol smell as you walk in, and throughout the facility. Room linens were less than welcoming, concerned about cleanliness. The bath towels were damp which lead me to think they were just pulled off the pile of previous linens and perhaps not clean. Manager had to go to the hospital which left friends to greet guests, but they could not check in guests. I strongly recommend NOT staying here.

We are disappointed with this review. We could have looked into the issue if there was any more deeply if there was name and more detail of the guest and the room. But the picture is current and true. We have remodeled the property recently and is very clean and welcoming. There is no smell of any nature in the hallways and rooms. We change bed and bathroom linens and housekeeping is done on daily basis. All guests were welcomed, greeted and checked in correct manner. We hope to see you again when you are in the area and hope your stay will be more enjoyable.

We are sorry there was no issue to address and no info of the guest and/or room. Our property is remodeled recently. Rooms are updated and cleaned. Housekeeping is being done on daily basis. Front desk service is 24/7. Our free breakfast includes hot waffles, hard boiled eggs, 3 types of pastries, 3 type of cereals, verity of oat meals, bagels, cream cheese, bread, assorted jelly, peanut butter, butter, 2 types of juices and 24/7 fresh hot coffee.

I enjoyed the service of the desk clerk was very attentive and kind. The hotel it self is a pit and unclean. I was there for 3 nights and not once did I get a room cleaning or fresh bedding or towels

No wifi and a sleepless night
The wifi only worked in select portions of the hotel, and my room wasn’t one of them. I was not given a new room. When I tried to work in a common area the wifi that I was able to connect to finally was terrible anyway. The bed and pillows aren’t very comfortable and the hotel is situated next to a railroad track where trains come by multiple times in the night blaring their horns to jolt me awake even over the sound of the loud AC fan and literally shaking the bed, however the tracks go through the entire town so every hotel in town might have that same issue.

Thank you for staying with us and your time to post a review. Our Wi-Fi service is guest shared connection and not each room dedicated connection which you might have expected. Normal service works very well in all rooms and in common areas but you were requiring dedicated connection for graphics and professional uploads/downloads. Our staff had mentioned to you that if you need that kind of service, please come down to our lobby business center but you had declined. Our hotel has been remodeled last year and our beds and pillows are very comfortable as most of the customers send us feed back. Air conditioner in the room is in perfect condition and have had no complain from any guest so far. As far as train track is concerned, all hotels in the town are on the same street by the track and all of them were built more than 20 years ago, so train noise has always been here and is beyond our control. Our policy is to work to the entire satisfaction and comfort of our guests and we will upkeep this policy in future as well. One again thank you for staying with us and hope to see you again in your next trip in the area.

We only stayed one night. The room was fine for that. Everyone was nice to us. Could use some basic updating like better lighting and lamps that you can shut off on the bottom and maybe some newer towels. The bed was comfortable for me.

The room was cold when we stepped in - we set the heat and left to go out for the evening. When we returned the room was warm but as the night progressed, it got too hot and the the heater ran constently keeping us up half the night. I think a room should be set and the heater programmed to just turn on the fan occasionally. Otherwise the room was ok. In the winter, something hot for breakfast would be nice like scrambled eggs and sausage.

Great stay!
We stayed another night and realized who was at fault for claiming this hotel had a pool,hotub and gym, the owner was very nice and helpful, but the problem was hotels.com put out misleading info ,after several attempts by the owner to update the info since he bought the hotel,they were very rude on the phone and never answered my email and actually hung upon my boyfriend, the place is pretty clean overall and the bed was super comfortable,the owner did an awesome job of servicing our needs and fed up a very nice breakfast,i wasnt so happy about my first night mainly from the friction with hotels.com but i would definitely stay again,if you book this hotel, give it a chance ,it turned out to be a pretty nice place.
