"For the place it's nice hotel. It has some flaws but overall I'd go there again. Hotel is nicely designed but the rooms could be better equipped. We had full board, the buffet breakfast could be better, but I understand they can't put tons of food for total aprox 10 people accommodated in the hotel during our stay. The lunch and dinner was excellent. "

"Staff were very kind and courteous. The spa treatments were great, we got them at the Irma spa and they were lovely. We did the mirror pool and mud pool + short massage, which made the trip worth it. The area itself is really beautiful, green and nice to walk around / have a drink. Also there are restaurants nearby in town which are really nice. Overall a nice trip but the other reviews are right that the property itself is dated. First impression on arrival wasn’t great but stay was nice...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Šípkové?
Given that Šípkové is a small village, the best area to stay is within the village itself, or in a nearby town like Vrbové or Piešťany for more amenities.

For those seeking a quiet retreat directly within Šípkové, staying in a local guesthouse or a rented cottage offers a chance to experience rural Slovakian life. The village is characterized by its agricultural landscape, traditional homes, and a central church, providing a peaceful environment ideal for solo travelers looking for introspection or a digital detox.

For couples looking for more dining and activity options while still being close to the countryside, the nearby town of Vrbové is a good choice. Vrbové is a short drive from Šípkové and offers a selection of local restaurants, shops, and a historic main square with a distinctive leaning tower. It provides a balance between village tranquility and convenient access to services.

Travelers prioritizing comfort and a wider range of facilities will find Piešťany to be the most suitable option, located about 15-20 minutes away by car. Piešťany is a well-known spa town with numerous hotels, wellness centers, and a pedestrian zone along the Váh River.
When is the best time to go to Šípkové?
The best time to go to Šípkové is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for exploring the surrounding nature and enjoying outdoor activities. You'll find comfortable temperatures for hiking or cycling through the Small Carpathian Mountains, which are easily accessible from Šípkové. The vineyards also look particularly appealing during these times.

Summer (July and August) is also a good option, especially for families looking to enjoy the longer daylight hours and warmer temperatures. While it can be busier, the region offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation, including visits to nearby castles and water parks that are popular with children.

For those interested in winter sports or a quieter, more scenic experience, December to March can be suitable, especially if you plan to visit the ski resorts in the higher elevations of the Small Carpathians.
