Not great. At all.
It’s a ratty place. All three of our rooms had issues. Sinks that wouldn’t drain, shower door that wouldn’t close… the kind of thing that says management doesn’t care. Breakfast was okay. Parking is out in the street if you can get it. I wouldn’t stay again, although reviews for all places in that area seem sketchy. You’ll survive, but you might not have a great stay. We didn’t.

Great location and staff ! Rooms could be cleaner
The price is great in relation to the location. Blue mosque and the other areas are within 10-20 mins walking distance. Rooms are small but no complains because of the low pricing. The toilet was a bit old, hence, worn out toilet seat. If the toilet and rooms were cleaned/replaced, then it would have a perfect rating from me !

Booked an economic room , not realising it had no window and it was tiny. Expedia website didn’t mention any of it- very disappointing !!! Breakfast on the roof top was great facing the Hagia Sophia

As they said " you get what you pay for!" And at this hotel you get more than expected with little mount of money! Great hotel, perfect location, clean rooms, nice breakfast and simple, friendly stuff and helpful. I recommend this hotel!

Great hotel close to everything inc Gulhane metro
The hotel was nice and clean, and walking distance to everything including Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern etc. The breakfast was limited due to Covid but still healthy and fresh. Bread was really tasty too!

Dirty fake 4-star hotel
Far away to be 4-star hotel, relatively small rooms, not well maintained and not well cleaned (dust in corners ...). On top of that, we even poisoned with the food / drink at the breakfast. Problems started 1-2 hours after the breakfast, we were sick, we started throwing up and my son even had diarrhea for the following two days. Therefore, my suggestion is to stay away from this hotel.

A hidden gem
This is a lovely little hotel and I would recommend it highly. It is in an excellent location near Gulhane tram stop so it is very convenient to travel by Metro and then tram to here from Ataturk Airport. The rooms are compact, but fresh and nicely decorated. They are also spotlessly clean. I had a charming little balcony with a lovely view of Hagia Sophia. The breakfast is served on the 6th floor with both indoor and outdoor seating. There was plenty of choice covering cereals, fresh fruit, salad and vegetables, cold meats and cheeses as well as breads.

Central to all activities in the old city.
I had one week in Istanbul. I found the hotel very centrally located and comfortable. The room was small but clean, and I was only using it for sleeping.

Great location in Old City. The beds were the most comfortable we had our entire time in Turkey. The rooms were small but we were barely in them. The breakfast spread was nice and had a lovely view. I only had two qualms: 1) The hotel organized a taxi for us and the taxi driver tried to rip us off (not really the hotels fault but you'd think they'd pick a good representative) 2) When we arrived they gave us the key to a room that was already occupied... they must've realized the error right away because they chased us down just as we had entered a room full of someone's belongings.

This was my third stay in this hotel so I guess that says it all! I checked in late, after 01:00 a.m., and left before 06:00 a.m. the staff were helpful and efficient. Don't be swayed by reviews that complain about room size at Sude Konak. This is Istanbul Old City! Space is at a premium. The rooms are well appointed and clean. On the downside, the shuttle times for Ataturk Int'l are not all that convenient. Here's a tip: if the shuttle times don't work, pop next door to Erboy hotel and check their shuttle time. It worked well for me!

A very pleasurable stay overall with excellent cleanliness and affordability, rooms are well equipped, a bit on the smallish size though, but then again you only sleep there! Free Wi-Fi also assisted - many thanks for that

We've stayed at Sude Konak several time thru the years, and enjoyed it each time. This past visit is no exception. Great location in THE tourist area of Istanbul. The rooms are small, but most every hotel room in the city is; like Paris. Breakfast is basic, but very good.

Great location!
This is our second stay at this hotel so I guess that in itself says something! First time around we booked directly with the hotel via their website and paid a little extra for a street-view room. This time we didn't have the room selection option through hotels.com and so we ended up paying around £80 for a very small back-side room with a window looking out on to a dark ventilation shaft. The room was clean but had clearly been used previously by smokers. Staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good. It's served on the top floor with an option to eat outside on the terrace. We enjoyed a great via of the Hagia Sophia as we ate! The location is second to none being close to all the main sites and also convenient for airport transfer, which the hotel are happy to arrange (Cost is 15-17.50 Turk Lira per person). Would I stay again? Yes, but I'd also check out neighbouring hotels next time around.
