Noisy at night!!

Posted May 29, 2017
Ok hotel, spendy for what you get, but in line for the area. It was memorial day weekend... It's next to a bar and really loud at night...until midnight, then it toned down. Have to keep window open for air, but would still be loud with window closed. Staff were great about the shuttle, including the 4:30 am ride to the ferry!!! That was awesome, but not enough to counter the lack of sleep :)

Thank you for your feed back! We are adding ceiling fans to most of the rooms. In Alaska it is generally cool enough to not need them but on occasion it can be a little warm. The Sitka Hotel is located in the downtown area which is great during the day but can be noisy at night. We will be opening more rooms on the other side of the hotel next month. If you find yourself in Sitka again please give us a try and ask for one of the quieter rooms. Thank you

Wait til construction done, extensive water damage!

Posted May 4, 2017 on Hotels
I seemed to have gotten last hotel room in town due to a conference....but they should have said more about being under construction. The staff was nice, but the room smelled of mold so badly that we spent more time in rental car,the beds are so old and used you feel and hear every spring when you move. They desperately need new pillows,as we used sweatshirts to build our own pillows because the ones provided were thin but lumpy. I have also never been to a hotel that check in so late and check out 10 am!! I'm also curious on why they lock lobby at 8pm,give you a "code" to open side door, but have other side door of hotel open 24 hrs for construction workers?? My daughter had gotten very ill after day 2 so, won't be staying there again. I believe the doctor will agree that breathing mold not good!!!

Average stay, nothing special

Posted Dec 2, 2016 on Hotels
The front desk has limited service hours - you need to be checked in by 8pm or you can't stay there that night. If you leave before 8am you have to exit via a tight stairwell - which is difficult if you have a wheel chair or a lot of luggage. It's an average remodeled hotel, nothing too special.

Excellent Location

The location is perfect for downtown Sitka. Everything is easily walkable. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Overall a nice hotel.
