Decent and practical

Location: Silesian museum and small concert hall with nice restaurants are right across the hotel. Lidl grocery store is also nearby.
It is close to the Economic University and city center (within walking distance). Parking lot is large and many public transportation stations are nearby. Check in and check out is efficient. Room is spacious and includes free bottle of water, coffee and tea every day; respectable fridge with mini bar; safe deposit. Furniture and equipment is basic and relatively good shape. Breakfast offers solid variety of foods and drinks and lasts from 6:30 to 10:30, which is perfect. On minus side, swimming pool water is cold and access for pedestrians is not very good.

Pros: The pool. I like pools!
Cons: Everything could be improved, but nothing needed to be improved. Good, solid hotel overall.
Nothing fancy, but nothing bad! Would suit business travellers, but good for anyone else.

Pros: Breakfast is good; all the erst was a crappy experience.
Cons: Change the personal!
Location: Nothing
I arrived from the Krakow airport at 5pm. A bus of 40 elderly people was checking in at the hotel. I asked if I could drop my bag before going to a business appointment few minutes later. A very rude employee told to wait (one hour!). I came back in the evening and asked to checkin. Despite my online booking, they gave me a 2 single bed room. (do not wait for somebody to help you carry your bag!). I complained and asked for a king size bed. They gave me a room that has never been painted since 1970 with a carpet of the same age.

Very near to Katowice city centre

Pros: Central location. Right next to the university campus in fact. There was even a kettle in the room with tea and coffee.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff on reception, the waiting staff in the restaurant and Urszula who cleaned my room every day were all very polite, professional and helpful. My room was on the tenth floor so I had an excellent view of the city. The hotel was spotlessly clean and I used the leisure facilities (pool, sauna, jacuzzi) frequently. The cuisine in the restaurant was superb but there are also plenty of other restaurants in Katowice. Wi-fi throughout the hotel. There are few tourists in Katowice. It is a city trying to make itself attractive but has not quite got there yet. Kracow, on the other hand, is an absolute must-see and it is only a an hour away by bus. My stay at the Novotel Katowice was peaceful and enjoyable.

Pros: Used before so knew what to expect.
Cons: Web site needs to make it clear not everyone get the nice new bedroom even if you pay extra.
Location: Bit far from the town centre but taxi just outside
Ground floor upgraded and looks good especially the bar and restaurant. But despite the web site showing new decorated rooms I had the same old warn out room, carpet really needs replacing. Food good, staff excellent and I used the gym which is well equipped.
