Great location and good hotel. We were out most of the time so were only in the hotel to sleep. The cleaner didn't do a good job cleaning the room, we'd often find she didn't sweep or mop the floor. My bedsheets had holes in them and weren't changed but to be fair I didn't ask for them to be changed. However for a 5 star hotel I'd expect better.

A nice hotel, 4* (not 5*)

Posted Jan 11, 2018
Pros: Excellent breakfasts A nice restaurant (Talk of the Town) The rooftop pool looked spectacular Free water bottles (500 ml) are very handy
Cons: Need more electrical outlets for charging things -- we couldn't find any free outlet, had to unplug a lamp to charge stuff. Have herbal tea in room
This is a nice hotel, with great food and a spectacular rooftop pool (we didn't try it out because it was too cold), and some wonderful views (from some rooms, from the outdoor terrace, etc). Overall, i would rate it as 4*, not 5*, due to several factors that contribute to the perceived level of comfort: * overall condition -- carpet is worn in some places, the grout on the tiles in the bathroom has been re-done, the toilet is leaking very slightly (minor things each, but they add up to the overall impression) * not enough electrical outlets -- we couldn't find any free electrical outlets, had to unplug a lamp to charge things * the free 500 ml water bottles are very handy -- but they were not provided consistently during our stay ( we didn't get them on night 2 of a 4-night stay) * no caffeine-free beverage options in the rooms -- it would be nice to have an herbal tea bag and a decaf coffee pouch in the room to un-wind in the evenings.

Definitely Not 5* more 4*

Posted Jan 5, 2018
Pros: Talk of Town Bar in the evening has a delightful atmosphere but the food menu is quite limited and can become repetitive.
Cons: The service. Every time I approached Reception I was asked "Are you checking out?" when in fact I had only arrived and was checking in!
Location: Only a 10 minute walk up and down to the shops, waterfront etc but it is a steep hill on the walk back up! Picturesque location in a residential area.
Very pleasant stay for 7 nights over the New Year period. The room was huge but the bed the hotel supplied for my 12 year old son was a little flimsy fold-down bed which would have been OK a few years ago but not nowadays. However, the room was cleaned to a very high standard and the bathroom was spacious and modern. The service throughout the hotel was patchy - excellent or poor - nothing in between - not acceptable for a 5* hotel. The Reception area is small and dark but the bar and Talk of Town Bar/Café has a delightful atmosphere in the evening. Breakfast had lots of choice there was something for everyone including fruit, yoghurt, full cooked breakfast, juices etc and a chef preparing freshly cooked omelettes, pancakes or waffles - but this should be standard in a 5* hotel. Overall, we had a lovely time and would return but perhaps without our son as we did not find the hotel to be particularly child-friendly.

Staff couldn’t have been more helpful

Posted Jan 4, 2018
We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable (but the mattress was changed when we meantiones this) The bed linen and furniture were very tired, in need of replacing. But a lovely hotel, great location and extremely helpful staff

really nice hotel and great location

Posted Dec 26, 2017
Pros: nice rooms and friendly staff
Cons: 18 Euros per person for breakfast is quite expense
Location: really nice restaurants nearby and good transport links
The hotel is located very close to the Valletta ferry (<10min) and is situated close to supermakets and a few little shops. The view from the roof terrace is not to be missed

Very good hotel in Sliema

Posted Nov 30, 2017
Pros: Quiet, good food, good staff.
Location: Fine if travelling by car but when walking or travelling by bus the journey ends
Location not ideal since hotel lies on a hill behind the Sliema waterfront. But very helpful staff, good food, good rooms and a quiet location too. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will return.

Great quality hotel in ideal location

Posted Nov 27, 2017
A couple in our mid-thirties, we were looking for a hotel for a 3 night winter sun trip in Malta and The Palace delivered exactly what we needed. Not far from airport, peaceful location with plenty of restaurants around. Hotel breakfast was superb, as was TemptAsian restaurant on top floor. Very helpful staff, big rooms, great beds. Both pools, spa facilities and gym were excellent, better than many other hotels we've stayed in. Roof top pool, while not heated, has excellent views of sliema and surrounding towns. Sliema itself proved an easy location to get buses or ferries to explore the rest of the island efficiently, whilst having plenty of local amenities and beautiful back streets to walk round.
