More than adequate and easy to find

Posted Jan 25, 2016
Pros: We liked the rooms and the hot baths!
Cons: The heating system was uncontrollable. It was far too hot for us and we could not turn it down or get the room to a sensible temperature
Location: Ten minutes from Slough station, near the motorway, easy to find, good taxis.
Very good sized clean and well equipped rooms. Bathrooms more than adequate and lovely hot water. Would have preferred to have a fridge rather than an ironing board! Easy to use modern tv, plenty of tea and coffee (but no biscuits), hair dryer, etc. We paid for Wifi in our room but it only worked for an hour. We opted for breakfast in the restaurant which was very good but rather expensive. Staff all very good. Use of the gym/swimming pool complex included in room price.

Worst room ever

Posted Jan 7, 2016
Exedia advertised the room as a suit and it wasn't it was just a room. The room was freezing and we had to have a heater brought up to us at 2am. One of the lights wouldn't turn off so we had to hang a towel over it. The bathroom door was rotten and the bathroom grouting was yellow. I would like Expedia to do something about there misinformed advertising and some sort of recompense !

Not as good as it sounds

Posted Dec 22, 2015
Pros: Decent staff and would have spent more if they had taken my credit card details at the start (for wifi, for room service, etc.)
Cons: see all above
The Copthorne Hotel in Slough is actually well located for Windsor, the M4 and Heathrow but that's where the conveniences stop. In terms of value for money, the rates were cheap but having stayed there for two nights, you understand why. The TV does not work (Internet based with poor reception), rooms are not automatically cleaned (we returned at 4 p.m. and the room had not been cleaned - in all fairness, once called, the cleaning lady did the job was there and did the job within 15 minutes). Breakfast was not included (explaining the cheaper rate as set breakfast was £15.95 - not worth it for the cooked breakfast selection or quality - note Copthorne, many other hotels offer substantially better breakfasts for half that price). And then, we were also charged for parking on site (£6 per night). So, where the value looks good on paper, beware the actual results.

The hotel bedrooms are very dated, not like the pictures portrayed. The bathroom was in poor condition. The heating on the room no longer was adjustable so the rooms were very hot. The bed however was a very good size and very comfortable.

Good hotel. Close to all amenities.

Throughly enjoyed our stay. Very relaxed and good friendly staff and very helpful. The only problem we had was with some incident at the hotel on arrival , so we were unable to check in.After travelling for 7 hours we were looking forward to rest at the hotel and then visit family but had to visit family straight away. We had problems with door cards but staff helped us straight away.

Hotel and base for visits to surrounding area

Posted Nov 6, 2015 on Hotels
Reception staff very helpful and professionally friendly. Hotel bar was enjoyable and open for late drinks. Could not get any type hot food after 10pm. Room service was just a disappointing selection of cold sandwiches, could have offered more! The hotel has it's own underground car park but I would not leave anything of value in the car as the neighborhood did look well rundown.
