Central Hotel in centre of Sofia
Posted Aug 5, 2016
The hotel is aptly named, situated in the heart of Sofia, ten minutes walk from the Metro Station. Approx twenty minute journey from the airport by Metro, the latter being very clean, cheap and efficient. The stations are relatively new and very clean. There are lots of places to eat out, with a variety of food at very good prices. Although in the centre of the capital city, we were able to quickly get out to surrounding countryside, such as the Vitosha mountains where we took the chair lift to the to the top and enjoyed wonderful views. We booked a trip to Boyana Church and Rila Monastery through the hotel. We visited Pancharevo Lake, using the hotel transport to get there for just 15 euros. We visited the Paradise Centre, Bulgaria's largest shopping mall, which can be easily accessed via the metro, the Paradise Centre station having just opened a few days before we arrived. Near to the Paradise Centre is the Zoo, which we did find a bit tired and in need of uplifting, however, that was reflected in the extremely cheap entrance fee.
An unusual experience on our holiday was "The Detective & The Time Machine" escape room at "3Key Rooms on Boulevard Vasil Levski 102", we would thoroughly recommend for groups of 4 to 6 people.
