Great Hotel
Very great Hotel. We always stay here when we visit in Solingen. Great Staff who help you with anything you need. We can only highly recommend this place

The room, foyer, breakfast room was very modern and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the price for the room and breakfast was moderate. The downside was the location. Parking was a bit of a challenge and the hotel was right next to train tracks. Therefore, it was quite noisy. All in all, I greatly enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

Very Friendly and supportive staff. This compensates for noise from nearby railways. Will always come back here.

Good location-nice hotel
The hotel is nice, beside the station. Breakfast was very good and the staff is really kind and helpfull. Internet does not function in the room but it's good in public areas.There is a free parking and a small kitchen in the room, with fridge also.We were very pleased with our stay there.

Not for the faint hearted
The bathrooms were very clean which is the one redeeming quality of the hotel. The hallways and carpets all over could seriously use a facelift. The hotel overall is dirty. The furniture in the lobby is seriously worn out. I left early even though i had paid my stay in advance, however i needed to stay elsewhere. This hotel is a depressing place. If budget is all that matters and you just need a roof over your head, I suppose this will work for you. You get what you pay for.

Plenty of room for improvement
I have stayed there before.Unfortunately the noisy rail road trains do not allow for a good nights rest. Not much can be changed here, unless you get a room in the back for another EU10.00 per night.Here are things that could be changed, however: 1) The check in-The fellow allowed me to stay in the same room( I had two different reservations for following days..What a favor Further more he was not going to charge me EU 10.00 for the NO SMOKING room!! A first in my 40 years of professional travel on 4 continents.. There were also no utensils in their kitchen.The bed was also not made up or room cleaned between the two days.Check in and check out procedures:Staff should be trained that guests are paying their salaries and are not there to inconvenience the staff. I realize the present poor economic times,but the very basics in the hotel and travel business should be maintained. Sometimes I wish I could train personnel, it's not really expensive and the rewards pay off in the iong range.Very truly yours,A. Freyberg

Very bad internet
If You have a car and business or trade show around 30 km, it is a good value. But staff has a bit of an attitude and don't count on the internet if your room is not next to an antenna.....the train tracks are very close and noise can probably be a major factor if in the summer you need the windows open (no air conditioned...). Otherwise, not a problem.

Ok ....but beware
Overall a good hotel ....but there is no health club ( as advertised ) ....also the rooms at front of the hotel are noisy ....therefore you need to pay extra to have a quieter room at the back .......also the free wifi is very poor .....and the car parking under hotel is very small ............but very good breakfast .....you need a car if you are staying here as it very far from anything .

Kempe Komfort in Solingen
Very nice personnel, room is very inexpensive; I would opt for the upgraded room to avoid the railway across the road (they have installed 46 dB windows, but the trains are apparently 146 dB and run late into the night/early in the morning) -- it would still be worth it. The hotel is a bit isolated, and "downtown" Ohligs is not exactly a hot spot. For me, that makes it good for business travel, and I would return again (if traveling alone on business).

This hotel should be avoided at all costs. It is noisy to an unbearable point, the carpet in the rooms are dirty and it is a lot further away from Dusseldorf than they pretend >35km is the real distance by road. Awful and terrible

My first floor room was literally one meter from a sidewalk, two meters from a fairly busy street and five meters from a high speed rail track that was trafficked on a 24-hour basis. It's inconceivable that they'd reasonably expect anyone to sleep in there. The breakfast was pretty bad as well, nothing warm, nothing fresh. Stay there only if that's your only option.

Convenient location, excellent price
Convenient location, excellent price. Parking garage is too small, however street parking is possible nearby. Quality/Price ratio is perfect. Breakfast buffet is good enough. Recommend this hotel for travelers passing Solingen on the way along highway A3.

Right by Noisy Rail
Booked a room for 3 adults. They called it a "penthouse." Good space, but walkup one level to bedroom, which faced the train tracks. It was hot and being on that upper level didn't help to have a cool place to sleep at night, AND we had to close the windows because of the trains! Trains did stop running around midnight and started back up around 5ish...not enough sleep time for me! The sitting room downstairs did not have a TV; only TV was very small, in bedsroom, and not really viewable from all 3 beds. Bathrroom was good, but lighting wasn't great. Neighborhood was quiet, but location not really convienent for to/from Koln....but not toooo bad. Breakfast pretty basic, but okay.

Visiting an Exhibition in Dusseldorf, our travel arranger booked us into this hotel. 10 minute walk to local station, total travel time each way was 1 hour. Innitial thoughts of being an hour out in a Hotel with no bar or resaurant were somewhat negative. However! the staff were great, the hotel was clean and efficiant, the breakfast was good. The lack of a restaurant made us venture the 10 minute walk to town where we found very friendly people serving excellent beer and food. The train journey gave us a view of the German countryside so all in all much better than a Hotel next door to the Exhibition where we would have eaten and seen nothing of the area. Our rooms where at the back so we heard nothing of the trains going past the front.

This Hotel over delivered for 3 star hotel. Extremely clean and room larger than any other room I have stayed in Europe. Hotel staff friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. I was there for convention in Dusseldorf, so only down side if you're driving is will take you 25 minutes or so to go 15 miles. Train station was only 5 minute walk from hotel; might be better solution than driving.

Das Hotel hat insgesamt einen sehr guten Eindruck gemacht. Das Zimmer sehr geräumig und sogar mit Badewanne. Eun Kühlschrank ist vorhanden und dazu noch eine Flasche Wasser gratis. Das Einzige, was ein bisschen gestört hat ist, das man die Verdunklungsvorhänge nicht so zu machsn konnte das es wirklich dunkel war. Das Frühstück war dafür wieder sehr gut und abwechslungsreich.

Der Service durch das Personal ist super. Es sind alle freundlich und lösungsorientiert zur Stelle. Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen und die Nähe zu den ICE und Gütergleisen macht es nicht gerade zur Erholungsreise. Für geschäftliche Reisen oder Montageübernachtungen ist es aber trotzdem gut, weil der Preis stimmt und in dem Zimmer ein Kühlschrank u.a. vorhanden ist.

Wenn es besser gerochen hätte, dann wäre es okay.
Ich hatte schon mal ein besseres Zimmer in dem Hotel, leider roch es diesmal etwas unangenehm im Zimmer. Dass das Zimmer direkt zu den Bahngleisen war hat mich nicht gestört. Frühstück, 8 € :-( ist gut, leckere Brötchen usw. Leider sitzt man mit zig Leuten im Frühstücksraum, ohne offene Fenster, gerade zu Corona Zeiten nicht so toll.

An Komfort, Service und Sauberkeit gibt es wenig auszusetzen, abgesehen vom Einzelblattspender in der Toilette. Ich fand allerdings nur wenig Nachtschlaf, da umnittelbar vor dem Hotel eine mehrgleisige Bahnstrecke vorbei führt. Es gibt zwar schalldämmende Fenster und auf dem Kopfkissen lagen statt der üblichen Gummibärchen Ohrstopfen, was in Summe aber nur wenig Abhilfe brachte.

Gut: Saubere Zimmer mit Standardausstattung, Für jeden Gast gab es eine Flasche Wasser. Kaffee und warme Getränke waren kostenfrei an der Rezeption erhältlich. Weniger gut: Das Hotel liegt direkt an einer Bahnlinie, Zimmer zum Hof wären bei gleicher Ausstattung 10 € teurer gewesen. Ohrstöpsel gab es, die helfen aber nur bedingt
