Canonsgrove Farm

Posted Sep 23, 2016 on Wotif
Pros: Located in the surrounds of a working farm.
Location: Several miles south of Taunton and away from the hustle and bustle. A peaceful location.
After the map on the Trivago website showed this property to be a long way from where it really was, the welcome from the proprietors eased the annoyance that had been created. This is a 1500s property with cob walls, beams and lots of character that you would expect from a building of this era.

Excellent hospitality

Both Lyn and Colin were very welcoming they even allowed my son to feed a lamb, also we got a tour of the working farm which was lovely and they were a lovely hard working family. We would definitely go back again as it is also near where my cousin and family live.

Fantastic welcome. Building has loads of character. Gorgeous breakfast. Only negative was ensuite door, which did not close and was rather embarrassing/inconvenient.

Lovely bubbly hospitality with rural feel but very near town. Made to feel very welcome, almost like family!

Canonsgrove Farm - welcoming country B&B

Posted Jan 23, 2011 on Hotels
Farmhouse B&B, full of character and run by an extremely welcoming couple. Wonderful cooked breakfast. There are two guest rooms, one with en suite facilities and the other with a bathroom, accessed from the landing (but not shared with others). We only stayed for one night so didn't get a good feel for the area but (surprisingly!) there is an excellent Indian restaurant in the village as well as a pub which serves food.

Rural retreat in the heart of the Quantocks

Posted Jun 28, 2009
Booked at last minute for a business trip in Bridgwater. Owners very friendly and accommodating. Quaint but comfortable rooms in a working farm. Very tranquil, despite proximity to the M5. Competitive room rate included an excellent breakfast made with local produce - owners happy to cater for vegetarians like myself. Would happily stay there again but owners advise phoning first to check availability if booking at less than 48 hours notice. If arriving by car, it's worth following the recommended directions from the M5 J26 (rather than your SatNav) if you want to avoid a series of very narrow and tortuous single track lanes!
