A good stay

Posted Mar 23, 2016
Pros: The character--narrow stairs, orig. wood, slightly creaky uneven floors +church view.(Easy access more modern ground floor rooms avail rear building)
Cons: The new owners will be doing refurbishment of some areas where necessary.
Location: The hotel is very well situated for shops, restaurants, museums and churches. The train station is a 15 minute walk or a short taxi ride.
It was very interesting to stay in the main building of this hotel due to its age and character and the fact that it is a listed building. The bedroom was very comfortable with fabulous view of the church. Everything that was needed was to hand plus a good wifi signal. There was good lighting- something that many modern hotels lack!! Some upgrading of bathroom is expected to be done due course. Staff are all very friendly and very efficient.

I night stay

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: The staff were pleasant and the Breakfast was lovely . Couldn't be faulted .
Cons: Bathroom in our room although our friends stayed in a room above ours and there's didn't smell and their bathroom was much nicer , so pot luck I think
Location: The location was right in the town which is really good but there's not a lot to do, the shopping was rubbish ,no decent shops,
We were disappointed , our room was not in the main building and had to go across the car park .that wasn't really a problem . The room Was reasonably decorated and comfortable but smelt musky. The bathroom was much to be desired, really old fashioned and the floor was really uneven ! The shower was over the bath with a curtain around but I must say the water was plenty hot enough . We thought there was going to be a bar and eating area but there wasn't so that was a bit disappointing . We were lucky to be able to park at the back of the hotel .

Central to Bridgwater town and facilities

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: Location and access.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Location was handy for walking around the town. Easy access for various regions of Somerset.
Staff were friendly and very helpfull. Parking was good. Room was clean though our bathroom floor sloped, due to age of original building.Downside, when we entered the room it smelt damp (musky), which soon cleared when we opened the window.Accommodation was warm and the bed was very comfortable.Good breakfast.

Exactly what we were looking for

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: It was situated a very short walk from the high street, off street parking, friendly atmosphere, and a decent room at an affordable price.
Cons: possibly update the décor in the next couple of years. Make the breakfast finish a little alter ;-)
Location: No idea, we were just there for a wedding
We were visiting Bridgewater for a wedding, so found the hotel online, at a very competitive price. The room was clean, well presented and the staff approachable and charming. The furnishings in the room could do with a bit of an update, but for the price, I wouldn't expect anything more, it was exactly what we needed. Sadly, we didn't get up early enough for breakfast, so can't comment.
