Incredibly welcoming.

Pros: Warm welcome, clean & tidy & lovely breakfast.
I stayed at the Waverley for 2 nights as I had a job interview locally. Upon arrival, I was greeted very warmly by Ian, one of the owners. Lovely bloke, full of info about the local area, showed me to my room, told me everything I needed to know, including where to find the wifi code & left me to it. Room was very clean & neat as were the bathrooms. Ian mentioned he had opened the windows earlier in the day as it was hot which I thought was very thoughtful. The B&B is in a quiet area which as a light sleeper, I appreciated. It's a 2 minute walk to the seafront so nice & close to shops, the beach & other amenities such as the bus stop. I had a comfortable nights sleep followed by one of the best cooked breakfasts I've ever had. I met Michael, Ian's brother at breakfast. Another lovely bloke, very friendly & top marks for remembering my breakfast preferences on the second morning. I had to leave early to go home on the second morning & I really appreciate the guys having breakfast ready for me a bit early. As soon as I sat down, a pot of tea was put in front of me swiftly followed by my cooked breakfast. Brilliant service. Lovely welcoming hosts, clean & tidy, good location & great food.

Centrally located B&B

Posted Sep 1, 2016
Pros: Location; carpets; breakfast
Cons: Wifi
Location: Close to West Somerset Railway, and many pubs, cafes and tea rooms. Short walk from harbour and beach.
The Waverley is located just two minutes' walk from the main street in Minehead, and 5 minutes from the beach and West Somerset Railway. It's relatively basic, as most of the rooms don't have en suite facilities, and so attracts a mix of holidaymakers and construction workers - but that shouldn't cause either group any problems. Breakfast was very good (I've had worse ones in much more expensive B&Bs). The rooms were comfortable enough with decent linen and all appear to have recently been re-carpeted, so were in unusually good condition for an older style B&B. Each room contains a TV with Freeview channels, including radio. The showers were fine. My only grouse was that the wifi on the top floor was very weak, slow and kept dropping out altogether; I didn't really like the coffee/milk provided in the room. Ian was an excellent and friendly host.

Gemütlichkeit in netter Atmosphäre

Wir hatten zwar nur eine Nacht, wurden aber von den beiden Brüdern, die das B and B führen, sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich behandelt. Sie schaffen eine gemütiche Atmosphäre.

Welcoming b&b near the front

Posted Apr 15, 2016
A warm welcome from the friendly hosts, a good full English breakfast (the brothers were great at remembering how we liked things cooked!) and clean, bright rooms. All in all an excellent place to stay for a few days.
