The service was horrible! We tried to contact the hotel to cancel the booking 4 days in advance but they did not pick up their calls neither did they respond to our messages. We asked Expedia to help us get a refund since we had paid for 18 nights and ended up only staying there for 10 nights as we were moving towns due to a emergency response. The front desk manager communicated to Expedia that we stayed at the Hotel for the 18 nights which is a big lie. I find this to be very unprofessional. Other than lack of professionalism on the from desk side, the hotel amenities were excellent, huge pool and clean rooms.

Nice and quiet green place needing new showers
An older establishment which is very spacious and quiet and green with nice pool, gym, tennis and restaurant. Breakfast is very good with lot of choices of hot and cold foods. Nice location close to un and embassies and the main roads. Staff can be nicer and service is very slow for room service or when need something like it took them 3 hours to bring mosquito spray after one night didn’t bring at all. There are lot of mosquitoes maybe due to heavy trees around. The rooms are quite large with very good comfortable bed and linen. Tv and ac is good as well as net. Toilet needs to definitely be looked at with the cheapy kind of shower with the handle not a proper shower head. I think that’s my major problem here. Overall it’s nice place which is quiet and big rooms with nice veranda outside but can use some new toilet works and faster service.

Excellent Hotel, but with a gated community feel
It is a wonderful, world class hotel in a safe and elite neighborhood. This latter part may be an issue to those who want to be in the midst of it all. It is not in the midst of all the action. It has a secluded, gated community feel to it.

Rooms small but adequate. Great position.
Pleasant inexpensive hotel in the diplomatic area. Great pools, tennis courts, etc. Secure parking. Rooms small but adequate amenities, AC, 'fridge, tea, coffee etc. Bathrooms dated but clean. No breakfast before 07h00 which is inconvenient.

We had great time at the hotel. Free wifi every where around the hotel. Amazing continental breakfast, the swimming pool was clean. The gym was a bonus. Overall I will recommend it to anyone.

Great Stay
Great stay. Hotel complex is close to all embassy & very safe to walk about at night. easy to find from airport & also close to beach & small shopping malls & café. Staff were wonderful & very helpful with direction. Room clean & very comfortable after a longer day at cement plant. Pool & gym & other out door services welcome to help you relax. Nice and comfortable hotel
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The sports center and spa were really great! Loved the spa treatment I got. It was a bit frustrating that most of the staff do not speak English so the language barrier became a problem at times. Especially when ordering food in the restaurant. The set up encourages you to exercise. Lovely stroll to the rooms and availability of sporting facilities. Overall, I would definitely stay there again.

Have stayed at Mirassol Indy twice now and find it well located, comfortable, good amenities, adequate breakfast and good value. Since they put wi-fi routers in each room the wi-fi is now excellent.

Two night stay was enjoyable! Property is huge and pool is beautiful. Great gym, spa, cafe - rooms just okay, nothing fancy. In a quiet neighborhood, not walking distance to much.

This hotel has an excellent gym and swimming pool, and is less than 20-minute stroll to beachside restaurants. Staff are very helpful, and the buffet breakfast excellent. Rooms are rather small, but with good amenities. It is away from the center, however... but not more than a ten-minute, USD five dollar taxi ride

Very Nice Hotel
I stayed there for a week duing my official trip to Maputo. It is a very nice and well maintained property in the VVIP area of Maputo. The use of Health club and Pool was complimentary. The speed of internet connection was excellent. The restaurant was bit expensice.

Was surprised at how nice the hotel was. The pictures online don't do it justice. Very well taken care of, beautiful grounds, room was excellent. The hotel restaurant has really wonderful food - but beware, its very pricey.

I booked two rooms at the Girassol.the first room was an normal room at $240 and the second room was an Executive room at $289.00 imagine to my dismay when both rooms were exactly the same. I went to reception and was told that they are different when they were not.I find this very unproffesional and it amounts to false advertising.I will not be staying at the Girassol again. Secoundly as a businessman sharing a room a gap between the beds would be nice,however this is close to impossible because of the size of the room.There are a lot of new hotels going up around the Girrassol so maybe this willhelp them change there attitude towards there customers in the future.

In theory the idea of villas is great but what couldve been a nice urban oasis was just a pretty outdated place where the staff was frankly rude and indifferent. The food at the restuarnt was actually delicisious but white tablecloth formal option-- no bar or simple food-- was just annoying. Outdate policy on charging for internet. Room had mold spots and acrylic shower tub felt like I couldve stepped though it. Closet smelled like mold. Gym was great though.

the hotel is well kept and reasonably comfortable, however the staff are aloof and quite unhelpfull. Despite the stated opening time for breakfast being 7am , the earliest breakfast was ready in the week long stay was 7.20am. upon several requests i was assured this would be remedied, yet nothing changed. i was extremely dissapointed in the general lack of professionalism of the staff amd front desk management, in fact i thought they were rude in some instances.

Girassol hotel was a pleasant surprise as I wasnt sure what to expect in Maputo. It's located within walking distance from the beach and offers 4 star quality service. Book in advance for cheaper rates, I thought their room rate was quite costly.

The hotel has a few shortcomings which I would like to highlite - Our overall stay - fantastic, but the we found the personnel not friendly at all at times and a total lack of commitment on service. The shower in our room was not up to standard, the aircon and TV did not work and we had to ask them twice to fix it. The restaurant opened late everyday(30 mins). I tried to book a massage for my wife but couldn't because the sistems were down and the lady never phoned me to let me know if it was fixed, so maybe it was down the whole time. I found the guards sleeping twice - even before 20h00 - and that was shocking for me. The bar at the swimming pool wasn't stocked at times and the drinks not cold. If they can work on the small detail and let you feel more at home I believe this can be one of the best in Maputu. I will however go back there and I hope thet they sort this out.

Girassol Indy Congress Hotel and Spa in Maputo,
The village hotel gives an ambience of relaxation. Our room was neat and kept clean all the time. We particularly enjoyed the gym facility. The hotel itself is situated in the upmarket suburb of Maputu not far from the country's presidential home. There is a general sense of safety. The reception staff dutifully helped us to organize sight seeing tours and booked us to a night club for an evening entertainment. A taxi was available 24 hours within the hotel premises and that made traveling very convenient.

Everything is slow in this place. Laundry service takes 48hs. The bar is not part of the hotel, so you have to pay in cash and can not sign and include in the hotel bill. My reservation wasn't ok, again (and I saw this happening to more people). If you want a late check out, be ready to pay 50% of the daily rate. You check in is at 14hs, but check out is 12hs. And you will need a taxi (20 minutes to arrive) to go anywhere. In the other hand, It is definitely a nice place with an excellent Gym. Restaurant is good, but too expesive to Maputo. Would I come back? Yes, if not in a business trip.

Oasis amidst the muck
For the first time arriving in Maputo on business was a culture shock to me. It is a single sprawling rubbish dump, and Girassol Indy Village offered a welcome escape, being like a well-kept little village on its own, in one of the "better" suburbs of Maputo. Unless speaking Portuguese, communication is a bit of a problem and can give rise to some dissatisfaction.
