Recycled car parts chair at the Greentivities building at the Sonoma County Fair. Make sure you check out this exhibit. Walk on Water at the Sonoma County Fair!
Cute lil' cove off Highway 1 in Jenner, Ca.
Best beach days are in winter 💓 Down a side street from the Sonoma County Fairgrounds are great 50's neighborhoods (I mean built in the 50's, not senior living). Some great fence murals. I'll find out more about them and post later, unless someone else knows artist, etc. really like this one. Update on fair food - the Sonoran Dog. Bacon-wrapped dog with pinto beans, grilled onions, mayo, mustard, and jalipeno sauce... Anything wrapped in bacon is ok by me! July 2013 Vietnam Vets Trail near bench. Entrance near Carissa (Drive?). Annadel State Park, Bennett Valley, Santa Rosa, CA This was an entry at the Sonoma County Fair. It is a map dress. Really clever and also cute! Great food since 1977. Guess who's been going there that long?!? Decor is the front ends of some classic cars. Recommend splitting one of their huge omelette (extra crispy on the home fries). Great antique and second hand, vintage clothing shops and just some downtown Santa Rosa shops to try. #localgem
Fantastic art on a fence by the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. Northern California's rugged coast line. One big-ass pumpkin. The Heirloom Festival is back in town! Get out yer gourds Last day of the Heirloom Expo - selling the Tower o'Gourds, Great kid's area, and cool old pickup with a real raised garden bed!
#barlove. To the Milk Bar Droogies! Excellent food in downtown Santa Rosa. I had the tilapia and my sister had the camarones ala diabla. Highly recommend this place. Santa Rosa has some great bench art all around town. I have to admit that I don't know the story behind them, but most of them are pretty cool. This is one of my favorites. Heirloom Expo - Tower o' Gourds, tomatoes, and fruit carver. Great locavore restaurant on the plaza downtown. Always outstanding food and service. I brought the great bottle of Pinot. High corkage, but they give the fee back to the community. Wonders of the redwoods Getting ready for the Derby! Afogato! Nice little pub downtown. Good fish & chips. A nice recycled sign at the Greentivities exhibit at the fair Great little neighborhood joint. Very friendly staff, good food. Kind of a Friday night ritual for my sister & I. The flower pot you see in the background is actually a drink called a Cantarita. Tequila, grapefruit soda, club soda and lime. One of those that one is not enough, and three are definitely too many! Another enjoyable dinner at Monte's. Brussel sprouts with bacon, onions & blue cheese. Sole almondiene, lamb burger, apple spice cake with cinnamon gelato. Sorry for typos-also had killer mojitos! In-N-Out Burger is not only the best fast food burger on the planet, it's cheap and fresh. No hormones, antibiotics or preservatives, etc OK gang, a must if you are in Santa Rosa - fried food heaven. These folks know how to fry chicken, green tomatoes and crispy Brussel sprouts. They make THE best cocktails - Manhatten to die for (can't believe I said that - OMG) and a Texas Margarita with cayenne that is superb! Rainbow tobiko :) Excellent sushi spot in Santa Rosa, CA.
More on More from the Heirloom Expo today... Bacon, BLT, & Bluegrass, excellent day! Great German food, great service. Closed on Mondays. Try wild boar Praise and worship service (provided by various local churches) followed by (gourmet) meal delivered to you at your table. Beautiful blooms on a plant with African origins. Wine Country Beautiful blooms on a plant with African origins. Sonoma County Farm Bureau's Crab Feed held at the Fairgrounds. My table was Come see all things about Peanuts and the cartoonist, a long time resident here. Also has a Peanuts themed café and gift shop, good for kids and adults. Hiking through the Black Forest Hmmm, what to have with my Manhattan? Great little place. Try the salmon, my fav. This bee was so loaded down with pollen he could hardly fly. Very funny to watch him 'stagger-fly' off. One of my go-to places. Never fails to please. Great beer equals good times! Hidden gem in a good location to wine country and fairgrounds events. Full hookups and pull through sites on gravel with discount rates offered but note no cable nor WiFi provided. Although it is a chain store, this is best place to get a wide variety of spices at good prices and free gift with certain purchase amount. After exploring downtown, walk or picnic in this small park under the coastal redwoods, often a site for city sponsored festivals. Then see Burbank home and gardens across the street. Stop in on your scenic drive through wine country and eat in or take out at this Italian deli with good sandwiches, salads and desserts. After exploring downtown, come tour the gardens, greenhouse and grave for free and see as well as learn about this horticulturist's introductions. Home tours for a fee. Tour the historic 1884 home of this local horticulturist for a fee, but self guided tour of gardens is free. Come see the turkey and it's chicks in the gardens next to the historic home of this horticulturist. Best brunch n
