The character cottage of the Maison de l'abbé welcomes you all year round. Dating from 1732, this house was renovated with passion while preserving period doors and fireplaces and furnished by calling on local craftsmen to combine old furniture and contemporary comfort. With a capacity of 4 people it includes a living room with open kitchen (32 m2) fully equipped opening onto a large terrace (30 m2) and enclosed garden with view of the St Martin's Bell Tower. The master bedroom (21 m2) has a 160x200 bed and a private bathroom with walk-in shower; The second bedroom (17 m2) has 2 80x190 beds that can be joined into a 160 cm bed and a private bathroom with walk-in shower. The 2 bedrooms open onto the terrace and the St Martin bell tower. The cottage having opened in 2018, all the bedding is new and of very good quality Sheets and towels are provided. A "cleaning" option is offered at the end of the stay. The cottage has WIFI. Depending on the period, short stays are possible (2 nights minimum). Located in the heart of the classified village of Sorèze and the great Occitanie site "At the sources of the Canal du Midi" (Sorèze-Revel-St Ferréol), the gîte offers you the possibility of recharging your batteries in a village with a prestigious historical past due to its Benedictine abbey founded in 754. Housed in the former house of the Abbot of Sorèze, it will seduce you with its hanging walled garden, its view of the St Martin Bell Tower and the foothills of the Black Mountain. Heritage lovers can get lost in the medieval alleys of the village in the footsteps of pilgrims (stage from Chemin d'Arles to St Jacques de Compostelle), visit the School Abbey, discover the Dom Robert Museum (one of the masters with Lurçat de tapestry of the twentieth century) or the work of Pierre Paul Riquet, the brilliant designer of the Canal du Midi. Nature lovers will discover the Montagne Noire, its forests and its channel, on foot, by bike or on horseback, as well as Lake St Ferréol 3 km away. Without forgetting the local markets and the Saturday morning market in Revel, ranked among the most beautiful markets in France.
