Convenient Sorrento hotelPosted Oct 24, 2015
Pros: Location and view
Cons: The size of the shower was a joke. 600x800. Tiny room.
Location: You can walk most places from there. Quite close to bus and train station and CENTRE of town.
Service not great at all. When I mentioned the size of the shower I was told, well it's an economy room. When I wanted to sit outside but the chairs were still wet, the lady sweeping told me she would find someone from the bar to come and dry it, which took so long I eventually left and went and sat inside. I just get the impression that guests are more of a nuisance than the reason they have a job.

Lovely hotel overlooking the bayPosted Oct 21, 2015
Pros: Its location - directly on the bay with stunning views and close proximity to the centre of Sorrento.
Cons: The ensuite bathrooms could be improved by refurbishment.
Lovely relaxing stay at the Grand Europa Palace. Reminiscent of yesteryear, this hotel is beautifully furnished but needs a little updating in the ensuite bathrooms. Location is perfect - right on the bay with stunning views and close to the square at the centre of Sorrento. Close to the bus station, the hotel is accessed easily from the airport. All in all a lovely experiece.

SorrentoPosted Oct 20, 2015
Pros: The location
Cons: The bathroom could be updated
Location: Sorrento is a great place to base yourself to see the Amalfi Coast. Lots of great restaurants within an easy walking distance.
Stayed recently for 4 nights. Room comfortable and clean although in older part of the hotel. The hotel is located within an easy walk from the train station and a quick walk to the main part of Sorrento. The breakfast is wonderful with a varied menu and the staff are welcoming. We would stay again.

Brilliant views. excellent locationPosted Oct 19, 2015
Pros: Location and views
Cons: Bathrooms and bed a little tired
Location: Pompeii an easy cheap train ride away 8 Euros return, Amalfi easy bus ride. Port easy access. Naples an hour train ride 7.20 euros for two one way
Independent traveller, easy journey from Naples Airport by airport bus to railway station, Interesting ride on very cheap local railway. Hotel a few minutes walk from Sorrento train station making this a very reasonable price for travel. Hotel has excellent views of the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius, Port and Capri. Good breakfast, making a good start to the day with eating on the terrace looking out at the view on offer. Staff very attentative. Do not listen to negative views, consider what it is you are looking at for your holiday. If you are wanting a hotel in a good location that offers easy walking access to all modes of public transport that enables you to visit attractions without the need for expensive tours then this hotel is ideal.

Beautiful old style hotelPosted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: The overall appearance of the hotel & it's location is wonderful & the staff were very smart.
Cons: A larger safe as couldn't put an iPad in. Only 1 socket outlet useable with adaptor. Tea / coffee making facilities as none in room.
Location: Well located within a short walkin distance to train / bus station & also main town square.
this is a beautiful old style hotel full of wonderful period furnishings. The view from the hotel terrace is magnificent and if possible try to book a room with a sea view. Our room overlooked the trees above the main entrance which meant when we were out on the balcony, 1floor up, we suffered insect bites. The quality of the breakfast was very good with plenty of hot & cold choices & the staff were very attentive & very smartly turned out. Getting to the pool or the sea did involve waiting on a lift & then a walk of close to 100 metres down a cold tunnel, the pool attendant was the only let down of the staff, not the most helpful when he could be located.

Authentic Italian charm with breathtaking viewsPosted Aug 1, 2015
From the moment you are warmly greeted at check in our stay didn't disappoint. We were delighted with our room which had a side sea view. Can't fault it, ignore negative comments as this hotel is utterly charming.

Close but no cigarPosted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: The location and the views from the terraces
Cons: The bathrooms and access to pool. I would not recommend this hotel for people with impaired mobility - everywhere has stairs
Location: 5 to 10 minutes flat walk to the main town square
Great position very close to the town centre. The hotel has stunning terraces for seeing the whole of the bay and where you can have breakfast or a evening drink. Our room wasn't the best. The advertised balcony was so narrow that we had to bring one of the chairs and the table into the room to get to the second chair. The bathroom was a little cluttered with a totally unnecessary bidet and the fittings were 1960s chunky monoliths. The shower cubicle was plastic and tiny, I had to open the cubicle door to be able to wash my lower half! The room furnishings were a little tired but the bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The lower sun terrace was nice with plenty of loungers and allowed access to the sea for swimming. The seawater pool was clean and a reasonable size. The main issue being the access to these facilities - either 100s of steep steps or a rickety lift which was well past its retirement and had been de-rated to carry only 2 people at a time. The lower level of the lift, left the crowds waiting down below in what could only be described as the dank, eerie remains of a Second World War 200 meter long sub pen. One had to go through this to reach the sun terrace and then climb up 2 flights of stairs to the pool.
