We booked well in advance but then had to stay off the main property. Management offered us a lovely dinner and the offsite property is nice...but not like the resort for certain.

Pros: The staff, the garden/pool area, the view. Everything!
This was our favorite hotel from our 3 weeks in Italy. Felt right at home as soon as we checked in, all the staff were very friendly and welcoming, this quaint family run hotel was clean and comfortable with a very nice pool and garden area and our room had a phenomenal view of Mt. Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples! The personal touches through out the hotel made it feel extremely homey. Conversations with Davide after supper were definate highlights of our stay! We enjoyed every moment we had there and wished we could have stayed longer. We can't say enough good things about this hotel and especially the staff! We look forward to returning someday.

Family owned hotel - good pool

Pros: The staff were very nice.
Location: Bit of a walk to get downtown, great views from the balcony. Irish pub about 1 block away.
This was a very pleasant experience. Rita and her family who own the hotel were extremely accommodating. The breakfast was good, coffee, pastries, fruit and yogurts. The pool was nice and there was a snack bar by the pool to get drinks and lunch. The hotel was about a 20 minute walk from downtown. If you turn right at the first street toward town you can walk on a less busy and more picturesque road. We took a taxi to get to the hotel from the train station, about 20 euros.

Pros: The pool is wonderful.
This was the first time I was very disappoited with my Expedia booking. I asked for a quiet room, the the reception told me that this was impossible because my booking was not direct with the hotel. I was given a very noisy room which was not doble but single alghought my booking was for double room. The bed was uncomfortoble and it was impossible to sleep at night because of the noise. The shower was so tight for even one person that was a challenge to take a shower without hitting your arms, legs or head on the wall.

Location is breathtaking overall Sorrento mountains and sea, actually you can see Vesuvius mountain and its surrounding. In addition Hotel's garden is beautiful. Pool service is Ok.

Pros: The room was spacious with a beautiful view. The hotel has great excursions available to Capri, Positano, Pompeii
Location: Great location, hotel Girasole is right near D'Agnello metro stop on the Circumvesuvianna (the regional metro). The hotel also has great excursions.
The Staff was amazing and friendly. Tony and his wife were both so kind and caring to all our needs. The breakfast is delish with fruit, yogurt and toast. They even have small Nutella and creme cheese packages. They even have some gluten free choices.

Nice hotel

Pros: Citrus trees, fresh fruit at breakfast.
Cons: Fix AC
This is quite a nice hotel, with friendly staff, a delicious breakfast with many choices, and a lovely swimming pool with nice view. Good location for visit to Pompeii. We had a family/quad room with a comfy king bed and bunk beds for the kids. Was very clean and enough space for everyone. Bunks worked fine for us, but would prob be a bit on the small side for adult sized teens. Only issue at all was that A/C was out and weather was hot - so was a bit too hot for sleeping. Told the owner who promised to get it fixed. Pool is really nice, just a one minute walk across a small street with no real traffic. They have citrus trees all around the pool. Somehow their Gardner has trees that grow oranges, limes, lemons, grapefruit, and pomelo all on the same tree! Very interesting to see. Was asked if we could pick and eat a few oranges (also served at breakfast) and they are delicious. We were able to walk to hotel both from Sorrento (15-20 minutes) or Sant Agnello train station. Not too far, but it is not right in the thick of things. Our room was quiet. Overall, happy with our stay here.

A Great Value Hotel

Pros: The staff were very helpful at all times, and the taste of Italy held on Tuesday nights is worth attending, good musician and plenty of food as well.
Cons: No meals served at night times, but not a problem as many local restaurants in centre are open to late.
Location: main road its only a 15min walk into the main area of Sorrento or Saint Agnello which included a restaurant selling chicken/pizzas done by wood oven
A hotel which I must admit was nice and quiet, the lemon tree's in the garden while drinking in the shade made this a nice relaxing hotel, was able to use the wi-fi while under the parasol. Swimming pool is in a seperate place just a short walk down the path and even there was a nice clean building serving snacks and cold drinks. Lots of tables and chairs available and a small free for the sun loungers gave everyone a chance of using them when required. Breakfast was always great with a good selection of cold meats/cheese/cereals and breads/fruit was well worth trying as well.

Pros: Friendly, food, the pool
Location: Wonderful!!!
We absolutely loved this hotel, Tony, his sisters, and the rest of the family made it feel like a b&b, so friendly. Although the hotel is 10mins out of town, it is also quiet.

Decent hotel, poorly located

Nothing special to report about the hotel per se, which has seen better days. Location: smack between the Sant'Agnello and Sorrento train stops: so you'll have to walk a bit or take a cab. The Sorrreto harbor is far (at least in the sun with a suitcase) and there's nothing to see/do near the hotel. There is parking at the hotel. Pros: Clean rooms, functional, nicely kept garden with trees and flowers. Cons: No "real" view of the bay, located along the main - and noisy - road, with a 12 inch sidewalk. Noisy. At least the hotel is situated on the right (North, or bay) side of the road. Don't be fooled by the pictures of the pool, which is located in an adjacent plot, and open to public. Closes at 6PM. If you are on vacation, spending more than one night at the Girasole Hotel does not really make sense. If you are on your way to somewhere else, why not...
