Comfortable and well located hotel - good dealPosted Oct 9, 2015
The hotel is located in the main street (15 minutes walking from the train/bus station). The breakfast and staff were very ok. The room was clear, beautiful and comfortable. The only comment I have is related to the bath towel that was quite unusual... It looks like a bed sheet.

Habitación no acorde al precio.Resto OKPosted Aug 18, 2015

Noisey hotel next to a hospitalPosted Aug 17, 2015
The breakfast were lovely as were the staff but it was very noisey where it was situated and halfway through the stay the jacuzzi broke and they did not have it fixed for the remainder of my stay (four days) or have a notice explaining what the problem was and any apology for the broken facility. there was also dirty footprints across my bed and when I complained it still wasn't changed.

Close to everything!Posted Aug 13, 2015
Pros: Location, cold air-conditioning, balcony, breakfast, staff, bathtub.
Cons: Happy hour drinks were too expensive; we didn't purchase any.
Location: Easy, short walk into town; places to book tours across street and to the left; many outdoor cafes to choose from; 20 minut e walk to Circumvensuviana
We were very happy with our stay. The room was clean and roomy enough, we had a balcony on end of building with views of sea and town. Ice cold air-conditioning which ran throughout the day! Mattress was fine: my back isn't so great, but I never woke up with back pain. The bathroom was a good size (for a european bathroom) and had a shower AND a tub. The breakfast was nice and had a wide variety of foods (scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals, fruits, pastries) and though some commented negatively on the coffee machine, I thought it was great. All the men working in the breakfast room were pleasant and helpful. Great rooftop views, nice terrace (although I thought the drinks were pricey). The location of the hotel is perfect, four blocks from Piazza Tasso and near many inexpensive stores/restaurants. Two grocery stores across the street that sold cheap water, beer, snacks and one sold bags of ice. Great restaurant across and to the right (Taverna Sorrento) great food at great prices. We signed up for three tours, which picked us up at the hotel or right across the street. Who needs an uppity 5 star, over-priced hotel? Not us, this place was perfect. We would definately consider staying again.

Worst hotel experience so far!!!Posted Aug 12, 2015
I stayed at this hotel & it was by far my worst experience staying in a hotel. I am not one to write reviews on hotels but I I have to when it comes to Hotel Tirrenia so people won't experience what I did. The staff are the extremely rude. From day one my friend and I did not feel welcome at all. The rooms are small, air con is loud, TV had no English channels & the shower was very small. The only staff member in the whole hotel that was welcoming was a man that worked at the hotel bar on the Terrace. Unfortunately I did not get his name but he went out of his way for the guests. As for the reception staff, I am disgusted. They need to learn basic customer service skills. The day we checked out my friend went to pay on card. The hotel eftpos was connected to the ph line so when the payment was going through a ph call was made and it did not print a receipt. The man at the reception then claimed the payment did not go through so she tried again and it kept declining which she thought was odd, she 100% had enough in her card. The man told her to go to an ATM and try and get cash out. When checking her card at an ATM she relised that the payment had gone through! She called her bank and they confirmed that it had. She told the man at the reception but he did not believe her we spent ages trying to explain but he threatened to call the police. We had to call the bank and cancel the payment after being on the phone for an hr. Then pay cash. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!

Lots of noise from the corridor. Cleaner woke us up at 8 am since he thought that we were leaving that day. The small pool on the roof is a hidden gem! Good brekafast for southern Europe.
