A convenient small hotel

Posted Oct 21, 2016
Pros: Room was comfortable but not large. Shower and other facilities worked well and the room was kept very clean and well looked after. Staff were polite and helpful.
Cons: Breakfast - the only meal we took - was indifferent but adequate. The coffee (always a problem with hotels) was horrible unless you arrived pretty early.
Location: Good location in the old town, with access to bus stops, coach pickup, marinas, shops, restaurants, art gallery

Great hotel warm and welcoming

Posted Aug 17, 2015
Pros: Breakfasts and staff
Cons: Room perhaps a little small for triple occupancy
Location: All main attractions accessible within a 5 minute walk - restaurants, beach, shops etc
Excellent breakfast such variety in hotel. Pool small but adequate and poolside staff warm and welcoming. Excellent for closeness to main attractions such as the Marina Grande and Piazza Tasso.

Would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Posted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: no comment
Cons: Breakfast, beds, sheets, cleanliness of bathroom and that's putting it kindly!
Location: A few places to eat and 20 mins walk to the train station.
My room was not clean, there was hair on the floor and walls. It seemed as if they cleaned all the bathroom with the same cloth without rinsing the cloth. Breakfast buffet included only a few cereal and pastries. It had no eggs or anything else you would associate with breakfast. You cannot request for eggs either it will get denied. The bed sheets were not the best smelling and the bed springs digging into your chest.

Last minute booking - good choice

Posted Oct 5, 2013
Pros: Great location and good firm bed. Blinds black out brilliantly if you want a long lie in!
Cons: The plumbing as mentioned was really noisy - think we were an extension to the origianal hotel.
Location: Great location, easy walk to the centre of Sorrento, but quiet at night so no problem. 5 minutes walk from fantastic food and drinks establishments
Great location, easy reach of Tasso Square where we go regularly for meals / drinks. Food - only had breakfast which was good. Pool /area was clean and functional and small bar was great for snacks and drinks. All in all a good experience, however plumbing was somewhat noisy (We had Room 416, if adjoining rooms had a shower or flushed it was like being in the same room or being next to Niagra Falls). Generally for the more mature person, over 45's we think.

Villa Maria, be more honest

Posted May 29, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: No balcony, not impressed with some of the staff
Location: Ideal, just off the main street Corso Italia, lovely walk into the centre
We booked & paid for a room with a mountain view. What we got when we arrived was something quite different, room with a seaview, from a window that you had to kneel on the floor to look out, a portal oval shape....was furious. Asked for another room, got one with a bigger window with a view of the apartments opposite. The jacuzzi is not operational as told by a member of staff that they never get asked for it so it was not kept in operation, gutted as the view was amazing from the top. I loved the gentleman who was in charge of the restaurant/breakfast area, just try to speak a little of the language & it goes a long way. Overall a great location just off the main Corso Italia, very clean & pleasant atmosphere.

A great value for money allrounder hotel

Posted Sep 9, 2012
Pros: Central location
Cons: Traffic noise at times a little annoying
Very well located in terms of getting to all amenities, on bus route and very efficient taxi service. Very well rounded hotel for both sightseeing or for just a relaxing time. Would use this hotel in the future.

On the whole, good

Posted Jun 11, 2012
Pros: Nice pool and fantastic view from roof.
Cons: Breakfast
Location: Very well placed for exploring Sorrento, especially the beach.
The hotel was nice and the staff attentive. I would say the only let down was the quality of food at breakfast. The choice was limited if you didn't want pastries and no fresh fruit. Plus, considering it is Italy, the coffee was terrible.

not bad, but would shop around before staying here again

Posted Aug 10, 2011
PROs -good value -good location, close market & walking distance to food, piazza's (and pizzas), harbor, and many others -clean -breakfast included -great view from the roof -English speaking staff helpful with booking tours CONs -staff always seemed annoyed if you asked anything of them and were pretty slow to do anything -extra fees for in room safe (good luck getting anything bigger than a camera in there) -extra fees for renting towels at the pool (you can't use your room towel) In summary, I would try to not stay here again for the staff attitude & the silly fees. I did enjoy the location and got some great photographs of Vesuvius from the roof, but could probably do that a number of other places.
