Location and views

Posted Oct 8, 2016
The view is amazing. By elevator it was 5 minutes to shops; the ferries and ferry booking offices a minute away and a 10 minute walk from the train station. The breakfast was fine and the lady running the breakfast service just lovely. Bed comfortable, pillows average. There is a safe. A lovely place to stay.

characterful hotel on quayside

Posted Sep 29, 2016
Pros: View and location
Cons: Starting breakfast before 8, a bit late if booked on early ferry/ train
Location: people/ boat watching...Fish Restaurent next door, good Pizza place nearby. restaurants in town will send transport. Boat trips.
Having driven the car along the very narrow quay, to the garage, which was an old boathouse, we had a very warm and efficient welcome from the owner who gave us lots of local tips/ restaurants etc. The room on the first floor overlooked the quay full of small boats overlooking Vesuvius across the bay, a magical view. Ferries depart from the quay to destinations along the Amalfi coast and Capri, very convenient and nicely away from the tourist bustle that is Sorrento. Access to the town is easy via a lift along from the hotel. Breakfasts were a comprehensive buffet served on a terrace, which also doubled as a bar, again with the fantastic view on the 2 nd floor. Room comfortable, if not very large, there is a shared lounge area behind the room, but without the view. Definitely stay again should we be in Sorrento. Perfectly possible to stay/ travel without a car( train station is a taxi drive away with luggage, if not its walkable via lift).

Great place to stay while in Sorrento. Wonderful staff who go out of their way to help in any way they can. Well equipped, clean rooms. Ours, #8, had a beautiful terrace overlooking the water and Mt. Vesuvius - gorgeous. Ferry right outside to catch to Naples or Capri. Restaurants nearby.

Absolute gem

Posted Jun 27, 2016 on Hotels
Marina Piccola is a wonderful, hidden gem of a hotel. The room is decorated beautifully with high ceilings, each room is unique. The view from the balcony is lovely. The breakfast experience is so nice and relaxed, also with a lovely view. The location is perfect for boating and other water activities. The staff was very accommodating and welcoming.

El hotel es muy agradable en una zona ventajosa, al lado de la marina para embarcar a capri o positano. Habitación amplia y Roberta es una gran anfitriona.

Clean, comfortable hotel with beautiful patio!

Posted May 22, 2016
Pros: It was clean. The patio was beautiful. The breakfast.
Cons: Boiled eggs at the breakfast.
Location: The location is right near the harbour. There are a few restaurants nearby and many boat tours start there.
The hotel is within walking distance to the center of Sorrento (all uphill just fyi) and very close to the harbour. There is a small beach right in front of the hotel and a beautiful patio overlooking the water. The rooms are clean and ours faced the water- beautiful at night and in the morning! It was quiet and we enjoyed listening to the water against the shore as we fell asleep. The breakfast was nice- coffee, juices, bread (croissants, baguette, cake), fruit, meat, etc... There are a few restaurants very close by as well.
