Beautiful setting

Posted Jul 21, 2017
This is an excellent hotel in a beautiful setting with gorgeous grounds/gardens to the front and breath taking panoramic views to the rear. You can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner while looking out across the bay. Vesuvius' position in this vista just adds to the magic! The staff are extremely efficient and really friendly. The hotel is very clean. The private beach and large deck area are at the bottom of the cliff and are lovely. No need to worry about a climb as they can be reached by elevator. Towels are provided for this area too. There is also a small, covered dining area on the beach which serves lunch and dinner too on some evenings. We were pleased to find that the beds are nice and big. We stayed in a Park View room at the front which was lovely but the Sea View rooms across the rear of the building would definitely be more special. The sunsets are amazing but you can see them from the dining areas and terrace every evening anyway. It's a bit of a walk into town but there is a free hotel shuttle bus that runs in and out all day (with a gap from 1ish til 4 when the driver takes a break). It's worth noting that the last return bus from town each day is 9.15pm so you'd need to use a taxi after this point and they can be 20 euros or more. There is a nice underground car park, where the buses drop off and pick up in town, so driving in and out is easy if you have a hire car. Parking at the hotel is 15 euros a day. It's full valet parking.

Stunning location and friendly staff

Although around 20 mins walk from Sorrento centre the distance helps because this hotel is an oasis of calm. Stunning views and lovely staff. Food prices mirror that of Sorrento but food is delicious and all locally sourced. The salt water pool surrounded by gorgeous gardens was our regular retreat after a hot day of sightseeing- heaven!

Perfect Mediterranean location

Posted Jul 2, 2017
The view from our sea facing terrace was spectacular. The room was big and clean, the bed a little hard. The pier was perfect. Lunch by the beach was delicious and the staff were very attentive. Breakfast was included and had more to offer then the typical continental. Front desk staff was dismissive and unaccountable for concerns. Despite that, I would stay here again and hope for better. We had a lovely time.

Horrible.

Pay a premium and they throw you out of the pool at 6:00 pm. If you wake up earlier than 7:00 a.m. You will not get a cup of coffee, you are expected to wait. When you explain that you are paying for the service, they call you stupid in Italian. There was a mistake when I booked the room and they misunderstood and thought I needed my room a day earlier. I caught it and a week before (within the required cancellation/ update policy) they refused to cancel one day and keep my other dates. I called Expedia and they also couldn't adjust the dates. (They did, however change the room reservation name to my friends whom arrived the day before me, hence the mistake) this hotel did not honor any of this. They charged me as a no show. I paid close to $450. Extra for their incompetence and dishonor of their own policy. NEVER stay with this chain.

Very Nice Hotel with beautiful free beach

Posted May 20, 2017
The hotel has panaromic views of Vesuvius and the Sea from the terrace garden and the Dining area. Hotel staff were courteous and professional. The garden in front of the hotel was very beautiful and a pleasure to walk around. Overall we enjoyed staying at the hotel and will choose it again on our future trips to the Sorrento and vicinity.

Amazing cliff top hotel

Posted May 10, 2017
Pros: location and friendly staff
Cons: breakfast buffet was a bit lack lustre
This is a beautiful cliff-top hotel with a stunning private park, great pool and private beach. The hotel has been recently refurbished to reflect its origins in the early 1960s and is incredibly stylish, light and airy. Staff are really friendly, restaurant is good and there's a beautiful cliff top terrace with the classic view over the Bay of Naples. I really could not find fault with this hotel - a delightful refuge from the business of central Sorrento. The town centre is a 20 minute walk from the hotel along mildly perilous roads - perhaps a little tricky for someone with limited mobility - but there is a regular hotel shuttle every 15 mins. I travel a lot and stay in a lot of hotels and this was certainly one of the nicest although certainly not expensive, at least not in May.
