"Food poor"
Very limited choice on menu and same menu every day. Portions very small and side orders consisted of around 3 carrots, 1 piece of broccoli and a bit of onion. If you visit here and do not have a car there are no shops that you can walk to to get food or snacks or even a drink so you are totally reliant on what the resort is offering. The communal area to sit outside to enjoy a drink and chat to other guests is more like a dark car park. The area around the pool was not looked after, no water in the dispenser and no cups, The sun lounger cushions had been left outside for many days and had filled up with water so could not use them on any of the days we were there.

"Fun, lovely, economical and the real deal"
Staying at Aanola Villas was a great choice for my husband and me. When visiting a beautiful and fascinating country like St. Lucia we have no interest in being cooped up at a resort with other foreigners. That would just feel phoney. Instead we rented a spacious, nicely appointed, not luxurious but comfortable apartment at Aanola Villas and got to see what a Castries neighborhood was like. The air conditioning, mosquito nets, washing machine and lovely view of the Caribbean were much appreciated. Having the well equipped kitchen meant we didn’t have to pay outrageous prices for restaurant meals in touristy places. We bought fabulous fruit, veggies, spices and provisions from the local market vendors and cooked for ourselves. We were glad to support the local economy in this way, and also to rent from a St. Lucian, instead of lining the pockets of some foreign-based hotel corporation. We didn’t want to rent a car so we took the nearby shuttle (about 2 minutes walk away) to downtown Castries. It leaves every hour and costs about US 60cents! If you want to lay on the beach and drink, this is not the place for you. If you want economical lodging that helps you experience the real St. Lucia and aren't looking to hang out in a pampered gated tourist community, then I'd recommend Aanola Villas.

The views and the open air rooms are the highlight of this resort, but the staff and service is not far behind.

"best beach location"
Having your own cottage a few steps from an amazing beach is a rare thing in this age of mega resorts. No steel drum bands, restaurants, or nightclubs at this property, but there is plenty of that nearby. A rental car or taxi is definitely needed. The staff is incredibly helpful and will go the extra mile to get you whatever you need. Even the owner meets with each guest with a very helpful introduction to St. Lucia and what you might like to do. This property and location is a gem. I hope it never changes.

"Alluring Property, Exceptional Hosts"
• We stayed at Apt Espoir for seven days and I must say my experience was nun but inviting, relaxing and hospitable. There were 10 apartments in the building and a two bedroom cottage located by the pool. Our studio apartment was very clean and well equipped with a balcony which overlooked the exotic garden and a sea view which was my favorite place to sit and relax. Our hosts Keith made us feel extremely welcome and really helped us with advice on getting around and where we can eat out. On our arrival we were so tired that we were not in the mood to go anywhere to eat out or cook, Mr Keith knowing of this brought us some pizza, sandwiches and soda, which was extremely nice of him, who does that? Keith did. The steps took you through the garden to the pool area which was a great place just to cool off and relax which I did a couple of times with my friends the steps continued down to a gate, then to a road. A 3 minutes walk down this road led to a lovely beach, which took us to either East Wind Resort or Wind Jammer Resort. We visited different places in St Lucia and I loved Pigeon Island. Pigeon Island National Landmark was very informative which displayed ruins of military buildings used during the battles between the French and the British for the island of Saint Lucia and A lookout point at the top of the Fort which gives a panoramic view of the Northwest coastline, just breathtaking. I will surely be returning soon. And I highly recommend….

"Beautiful Setting, Wonderful Staff!"
We have traveled throughout the Caribbean, and have never found a more beautiful setting. Ocean views are spectacular! The entire staff is friendly, and always willing to help with any request. Available excursions seemed limitless. We highly recommend the Mango Tango Day Cruise, where we saw flying fish, several pods of dolphins, the beautiful West Coast of St. Lucia from Rodney Bay to Soufriere, mud baths, waterfall swim, cocoa plantation, lunch, and snorkeling! Well worth the $100 per person! You can be as busy or as relaxed as you want to be here. We will definitely be back!

"Best Host of Saint Lucia"
Our host Vaun had already been waiting there to greet us for quite some time before we came out of the customs at Castries harbor—our ferry was delayed. The Grandtosh Apartments are expended units of Vaun and Tricia’s house on the hilltop, pretty new and well built. The unit we stayed is spacious, well equipped and very clean. It has a great mountain view, particular at sunset. When we realized Vaun also drove taxi, we asked him to be our guide partly because driving on the hilly island was not so easy. The next few days, he arranged our trips and took us to Soufriere, Pitons, Marigot Bay, Rodney Bay, and Pigeon Island. On certain days he would accompany us all day and on other days he dropped us at the place we wanted to go and came back to pick us up. The last day, he sent us to the harbor very early in the morning. Vaun and Tricia are considerate and friendly hosts. We wouldn’t have such a good time without them. As my wife put it, “we didn’t know anyone when we came here, now we have some friends”.
