10 minutes from Notre Dame walk to nice restaurant

Steps away from LaSalle Grille, fabulous find. Bed was really comfortable. Nice to walk around small city. We were visiting our daughter at Notre Dame and the ride was under 10 minutes. Much nicer here than closer to campus (much)

Sleepless nights

Horrible mattress in room 520 it’s was so bad and there was a bass sound coming from somewhere all night I called front desk they had no idea and wasn’t very helpful. I just can’t get over how bad the mattress was

Ok experience but details made it frustrating

Called for early check in and we were told no problem. Arrived to be given the wrong room, notified front desk who were pleasant but told us our actual room booked wouldn’t be available until later. No problem as we arrived early however, room that was booked ended up being ready an hour later than normal check in. Pool was cold and breakfast wasn’t included. Overall not a bad stay but the money we wouldn’t opt for this hotel in the future

Good location, disappointing condition

The staff and location were ideal but the condition of the room fell extremely short. Dated would be a compliment— the room had torn curtains, crusty carpeting and when we tried to slide the closet doors they just fell. They do have "under construction" signs up but from what we could tell those were for the exterior. The bright spot: Alex at the front desk was exceptional!

My apologies for the problems and I am not aware of any torn curtains, but will certainly investigate. The Hotel is undergoing both interior and exterior renovations, including removing the sliding closet doors and replacing with solid doors. We thank you for your business.

Visiting South Bend, IN?

Cons: We got double charged for the parking garage before we could get out! We paid at the front desk and again at the parking gate before the gate would o
Location: See above.
The Doubletree Hotel in South Bend is close to everything; many sights and restaurants are within walking distance. We stayed there after the area had just gotten 1 foot of snow! The snow had been cleared away and it was easy to get in/out of the hotel. One good hotel feature was the parking garage could be accessed from the lobby without going outside. We easily walked to the Morris Performing Arts Theater where our niece was performing in A Chorus Line. Our large group who attended the play were able to congregate in the restaurant/ bar area together comfortably.

Very nice hotel and accommodations, wish hotel bar/restaurant stayed open later.

The only place within walking distance to downtown

Pros: Location
Cons: Shows signs of wear here and there
Generally good, with few glitches - rusty handles around the bath tub, one table lamp goes off after 5 minutes, puddles in the garage due to uneven floor, no stuff in the grill downstairs for several minutes in the morning.
