Management made us feel uncomfortable
When we first entered the hotel it smelled and looked clean and we thought we had made a good choice for a place to stay. We were in town to meet with family for a Christmas get-together, so we asked them to meet us at our hotel before going out to eat. Shortly after our family of five adults and one child arrived at our room the manager came up, knocked on our door and told us that we were not supposed to have guests in our room because the hotel only had a fire rating for a certain number of people. There were hardly any cars in the parking lot so having too many people in the hotel could not be the reason. We were in an executive suite that had a table that sat six people, so the room was planned to be large enough for that number of people. We felt targeted by him for some reason, which made us very uncomfortable. I am not sure if we will try to stay here again in the future because of this.

Typical Comfort Inn, nice staff. Room was clean….cigarette burn in one of the comforters. The pillows were lumpy, bring your own. Noise and smells from the hallway like there is no door. So bring ear plugs. Also smelled strong smoke and pot one night-don’t know where it was coming from and our room was very close to the lobby. Small, clean pool. Decent regular hotel hot/cold breakfast.

Bathrooms need an upgrade...loose floor grout, tub and shower yellow and dated with missing caulking and loose shower head. Bathroom door needed adjustment to the striker plate...door would not stay closed. I would stay at the Holiday Inn accross the street if we go back...worth the extra few bucks. Staff were nice though.

The hotel was clean, the start were friendly and readily available. I can see why this hotel is so highly ranked. My only drawback was that the mattress was extra firm, and I prefer a medium to firm mattress. The breakfast was excellent and had a lot of both hot and cold choices. Overall I give this location a 9.5

My husband and I were visiting friends about 20 minutes away from the Comfort Inn in Laporte IL. We had a wonderful experience. Parking is free and just outside the entrance. Check in was fast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was immaculate! The bed and bedding were so comfortable. The room was also very spacious. The photos on the website didn’t do it justice. It looked to be recently remodeled when we arrived. Breakfast was good too! The location is great. It’s about a 2 minute walk to Pine Lake. There is also a trail you can walk right outside, I believe called the Chessie Trail. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend!

Great location! Lobby area was great. Rooms were fairly spacious and clean. Pool was small, but looked nice. Breakfast was a little more challenging. The hot breakfast was biscuits and gravy, not sure how popular that actually is, we didn’t care for it. There were several employees just hanging around the front desk while one girl tried to keep the replenish the food and keep the area clean. At one point the trash was overflowing, milk, biscuits, and cranberry juice all needed to be refilled, and many tables needed to be cleaned off for others waiting for a seat. Nothing that big of a deal to us, but it seemed like there were plenty of others that could have helped.

I was disappointed. The day we arrived I sat on the bed and it was wet. It soaked through my shorts. I lifted the comforter and the mattress cover was soaked with what smelled and looked like urine. The staff apologized and we were moved rooms. The room was supposed to sleep 4. It had one king bed and one single twin pull out couch. My son slept on the floor on cushions from the couch. There was only one bed set for the twin bed. So I asked for another comforter for my son and pillows. They said they couldn’t give me any extra pillows, but they did have an extra quilt. We were also only give two towels. On the positive side they was one really lovely lady who helped us at breakfast, giving us ideas of places in the local area to visit.
