Worthwhile for a classy and comfortable stay

Apparently your service does not have good communication. We had to cancel our stay due to unexpected last minute family situation. One of your representatives tried to get us a refund or voucher, but the vendor was adamant about penalizing us. Very strict policy about cancellation that is neither family oriented or Christian. I would not recommend this Oliver Inn to anyone who is not 100% certain that nothing will happen to prevent them from canceling.

All the furniture is antique, the home is awesome, library full of old books, a player piano that plays during breakfast, which was also fantastic. Highly recommend.

Excellent stay at the Inn. Felt like home. Comfy areas to enjoy the grounds and they don't miss a point with amenities in the room! Alice and Tom are great hosts and met our every need. Oh, and the home made chocolate chip oatmeal cookie was delicious! We will be back!

stayed for two nights.this was our first bed and breakfast.after all the motel/hotel drama this was refreshing.show up at the house and after greeting the host and quick show of the necessary rooms,kitchen etc,walk to our room.no long sign in,giving up id,endless questions and grilling,very nice.plenty of drinks and snacks always available.our first breakfast was nice,fresh fruit,sausage,sweets.second breakfast was the best.egg casserole was awsome,homemade sweet rolls,fresh fruit,etc.i could go on but will just say we will be back.

the breakfast was poor at best. gave me an acid stomach!!Too much spices. not what I would have served. Rolls were very good, Service was good. Tom and Alice were nice just not what I expected for the price. Memory Lane Bed and Breakfast in Mt.Gilead, Oh is way above with food and facility !!

The house is large with spacious bedrooms and public spaces -and- very homey. It was lovely to hear piano music while enjoying our delicious breakfasts in the bright dining room. Alice and Tom were very gracious, welcoming, friendly, hospitable and helpful. The B&B is in a great location, with easy access to local museums, Main Street downtown and restaurants.

This is a lovely home with marvelous owner, Alice and Tom. The room was comfortable, the food fantastic. It was centrally located to what we wanted to see and do. I am planning another getaway so we can stay there again!

We stayed 2 nights at the Oliver Inn and enjoyed a superior B&B experience. Our room was spotless and our bed was comfortable. The breakfast was beautifully served and perfectly cooked. Alice and Tom, the owners, are charming hosts and know how to create a relaxing environment. When we left, it felt like we were leaving good friends. You will LOVE this place.

The best choice for your stay in South Bend!
Oliver Inn is a fabulous, historic home, in a perfect location to enjoy the nearby museums, historic landmarks and local eateries. The owners and caretakers of this fine B and B are most gracious and accommodating to your every need. Breakfast was spectacular and the grounds are perfect for relaxing and sipping on a beverage. Highly recommend!

South Bend visit
I didn’t spend a lot of time in the Inn, I had several activities that consumed my time. While there the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the bathroom was clean and modernized with of the era pieces. The owners were knowledgeable about the Oliver family and the home that is now the inn. Plenty of parking.

Historic Home Appeal
We felt so welcome from the time we arrived. The room was spacious and had great view to the outside. The bed was comfortable and chocolates on the pillow was a nice touch. The floor was creaky when walking at night, and the shower water pressure was low but definitely good enough. The breakfasts were wonderful and served at our convenience. Really enjoyable stay!

Enjoy the style of South Bend's heyday
The Oliver Inn is beautiful, and the proprietors are very helpful, nice people. Breakfast was delicious, and seating at only two large (formal) tables encourages guests to meet each other and interact (fun) but does not require, if you especially want privacy (I suppose you could choose to sit at the far end of the other table from where people are already sitting). The Inn is very close to downtown South Bend, which has restaurants and the convention center, and is certainly much more interesting than staying in a regular business hotel, even if you are in South Bend on business. The downtown area may not be filled with attractions, but it is unlikely to be far from whatever draws you to South Bend. And if you are just coming to relax, the room at the Oliver Inn (and the downstairs parlor / sitting room) are great places for relaxing. Beautiful jetted soaker tub was a great feature, even if we chose not to use the jets at night because we weren't sure whether they would make too much noise for other guests.

Charm, comfort and hospitality!
We could not have had a nicer stay at the Oliver Inn. Alice was such a gracious hostess. I think my daughter said it best when she exclaimed "I feel like we are staying with a family friend." Our room was so comfortable and quaint and our breakfast was the best I've ever had. You can't show me a five-star hotel that I would prefer over this. Perfect!
