Close to the University of Notre Dame

This hotel definitely needs some work, but I can't help liking it! There's a charming quality that makes it worth the stay. The staff are always very nice, especially in the restaurant. Breakfast is good. Would stay here again.

When I walked in she was on a call asked if she could help walked off and went in another room and got back on the phone. Then another worker walked in and checked me in.

Get what you pay for!

Pros: Location and price.
Cons: Hire some good housekeeping and maintenance staff and be prepared to spend some money on the place.
Location: Not much on this side of the I80, but a short trip into downtown South Bend/Notre Dame campus and there ar lots of good eateries and sights to see.
This is a very run down tired facility. From the state of parking lot (cracked, uneven), murky indoor pool water and uncleaned carpets in the corridors to the noisy a/c units in the rooms and plugged sink, everything could really use a good "fixing up". Continental breakfast was very (VERY!!) basic. But, for less than eighty dollars and very convenient to the highway, what's not to like?!!

Bathroom drain was very slow draining so I ended up standing in a couple inches of water while showering which was not pleasant. Bedding, particularly the pillows did not smell clean. Carpeting was in dire need of being replaced.

Decent hotel without killing your budget

I had my doubts when I first arrived, but it turned out to be a fairly nice hotel. My room was clean and updated recently. The walls are thin so if you are a light sleeper- bring some ear plugs. The breakfast was very basic (cereal and breads), but they did a good job of keeping it fresh.

We were traveling through and had my daughters dog with us. They were very helpful and placed us where we would not be disturbing anyone and we were able to get outside without having to travel the whole length of the hall.

Good place for overnight stay

The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. The room was pretty good with the exception of the AC and the bathroom. For starters the bathroom was not made for anyone over 6ft tall to use and the bathtub drain backed up badly. The AC worked well but it was so loud if you wanted to talk or watch TV you would have to yell or significantly increase the volume when it came on then turn it back down when it turned off which was often. Overall though a good place for an overnight stay, more than one not so much.
