Resort Amenities

Vividly colored in blue, pink, champagne, and white and accented with red-tile and thatched roofs, this Nuevo Vallarta resort is surrounded by jungle and contains dense botanical gardens. Activities begin in the morning with stretching and aerobics, continue with dance classes, games, and athletic contests, and culminate with shows by the staff in an open-air theater. On Saturdays there's a beach party. Other nights the disco nightclub remains open for dancing and drinks until 2 AM.

Each side of the Grand Palladium Vallarta Resort & Spa - All Inclusive includes a hammock area, and there's open-air massage near the adult pool. Where to Eat

El Bosque - The resort's main restaurant, El Bosque is divided into two sections, each under an enormous, soaring, thatch-roof palapa and furnished with carved, dark-wood chairs and colorful chair cushions and table linens. Bountiful breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets are served, with lunches and dinners featuring theme foods such as Italian or Mexican. After dinner closes at 11 PM, fast foods such as pizza, hamburgers, and nachos are available until 1 AM.

Viva Mexico - Reached by a staircase ascending from the center of El Bosque, this dinner restaurant has its own palapa; features rustic decor such as wood-paddle ceiling fans, leather-and-wood furniture, and junk-metal sculptures; provides a sweeping ocean view; and serves à la carte Mexican fare. Reservations and casual resortwear required.

Portofino - Located on a bluff overlooking the ocean and graced by a conical palapa, Portofino serves Mediterranean-accented, à la carte dinners. Reservations and casual resortwear required.

Las Terrazas - By the main pool, Las Terrazas serves buffet-style snacks. Hours are 11 AM to 6 PM.

Bambú - On El Bosque's second floor, Bambú features Oriental cuisine a la carte.

Ribs & More - specializes in a la cart Steak House Grill meals. At night it's joined by Las Terrazas.

Even though it is the smallest motel I have ever stayed at, it has everything I look for in having a perfect vacation. This is my third time visiting here and cannot wait to go back and enjoy the great surfing and boogy boarding. The food and service is also amazing.

This resort is well past it's prime. Everything is dated and struggling to stay presentable. I would give this resort a 2 star rating at best.

Pros: We loved the views
The service and staff was excellent. The condition of the hotel was questionable. Walkways were slippery because of the surface used to make the walkways. Septic is used to irrigate all of the grounds...the smell is disgusting and they begin early evening, they could at least wait early morning hours. The smell of raw sewage permeates the hallways and inside the rooms, even tho all doors and windows are closed. This practice is very unhealthy, especially for people who have children. In order to access our room one evening, we had to run under one of the sprinklers which was passing over our walkway, being splashed with sewage. Totally unacceptable. We were disappointed as the only wine you could get was house wine which we were unable to drink, as it tasted like battery acid. If you wish a different choice, you are required to buy an entire bottle which is extremely expensive. My niece was married at the resort..the meal was not acceptable, the steaks were either over cooked or raw and too tough to chew, the shrimp was on the edge of being rotten and was soft. I ordered an ounce of Tequila and it was brought to me in a plastic water Tumbler, not a shooter glass. The wedding plates were extra and very expensive. The hotel was constantly pushing the overpriced massage and spa. The entire resort is situated so that you are either walking up or down stairs, or walking on unsafe surfaces This hotel is very expensive and certainly not worth half of the cost.

Beautiful Beach , friendly staff

The staff at the Palladium and Royal Suites are very friendly and helpful. Gaby from activities was an awesome instructor and we enjoyed our pool biking class from her immensely. Carlos at the Royal pool is a great bartender. The ocean frontage is beautiful and all of the staff's friendly demeanor made for a very pleasant stay!!!

Good family resort

Pros: Staff!
Location: If you want to stay in the resort, you can.There is plenty to do specially with kids... We explored near by towns.
Great staff. Nice facilities that is showing its age. Guests need to be advised about making reservations for eating in one of the restaurants since priority accommodations are given to "loyal/preferred guests". We had to wait over 2 hours to eat in the Mexican restaurant and an hour in another one. Number of empty and available tables but they wouldn't seat us. Not a fun a game to deal with when vacationing. Good food. Great drinks. If you are looking for an easy going and not so crowded resort, this is not the one.

So much going for it, but bad food!

We really wanted to love this place and it has so many things going for it; the surf break is right there, small private beach, rooms are nice and clean, staff and service are friendly, and the hotel is lovely. However, we just couldn't get past the poor quality of the food. The a la carte restaurants are kind of a joke because the food looks like it came from the buffet and spent an hour under a heat lamp and nothing seemed very fresh. Our last night, we ordered room service and our 12 year old son and I woke up with food poisoning the next morning. He was vomiting and weak, and spent our trip home in a wheelchair using a barf bag the entire time. If the food was better we could recommend this hotel, but unfortunately we can't.

Besides, monthly microbiological analysis is an establish tool in controlling the safety and quality of foods. We do not provide meals prepared previously, all our preparations are made daily and food conservation is our main interest. I am truly sorry for your son's illness, nevertheless, I have to underline the fact that we had a high occupancy during their stay and this kind of stomach symptoms did not surface in the rest of our guests that has been the most probable occurrence, in the case of poisoned food. 2nd Christmas vacation to grand palladium

Surfboards and paddle boards were always available. We noticed there were more than last year during Christmas vacation. Entertainment/shows were great. Plenty of food choices - some of it at the buffet needed to be warmer/hotter. Love the mechanical bull also.

Pleasantly suprised

Pros: Our room
Cons: All of the restaurants should be open for breakfast and lunch, not just dinner.
Location: surfing, other than that it is out of the way and you will need to taxi into Puerto Vallarta or do excursions if you want to leave the resort area
At check-in we were offered the option to upgrade to the 'penthouse' room 3302 (for $50 extra a night) and we were also given silver wrist bands for access to the royal suites section of the resort. I am so glad we did! The main thing I didn't like about this resort is the buffet is the only option for breakfast and lunch. The Royal Suites section has a nice restaurant that opened before the buffet and it also came in handy when we were tired of eating at the buffet.

Best place for a quick trip

Pros: Free surfboards and shore break right on the beach
Cons: they should invest in their own shuttle service, we had to cab in and out and dealing with the drivers wasn't fun, they just try to scam you
Location: I think you can go to Punta Mita and experience the underwater tunnel that leads to a secret beach and Sayulita is a surf spot that isn't too far.
The staff, the food and the nighttime entertainment was on point. Not too sure about the whole zoo concept, they say the animals couldn't be rehabilitated in the nature and they are saving them I guess, but these days, putting animals in cages isn't too popular I believe. The beach bar had two really nice genuine bartenders, one of the hotel host name Danny was incredibly nice too on our arrival, there's a guy named Angel that helped me a lot with my lost baggages. Our maid Josefina was too awesome and the daytime entertainment team was always keeping us jumping around. When we got there they gave us an upgrade on our room for no reason and told us they were always happy to have expedia customers. We got a beachfront view the whole week without paying for it and the A/C was on point. They always fill up your fridge and they don't charge you for it. So yeah besides the fact that I had to cab to get in and out and the zoo thing that I believe was a bit sad even though most of the animals seem healthy.
