This was a very nice hotel. Beautiful rooms. Great poolside. I did not like the food at all. I felt like they were very understaffed. If you want to order food it will take at least 45 minutes to an hour until they bought the food. We had an issue with housekeeping one time in which they forgot to clean the bathrooms.

Very Small Limited Food TIME SHAREPosted Aug 4, 2015
Pros: Rooms were large and beautiful. Beach service was awesome
Cons: 2 bedroom plunge pool was too warm to swim in so it was a total waste of money.
Location: The public beach is located next door so many locals set up there umbrellas and tables right in front of you while you sat on your lounge chair
All I can say is be prepared. We have travelled 10+ times down to Mexico and stayed and many all inclusive resorts so we think we are experienced Mexico travelers. When you arrive you bypass the main reception desk and offer you a drink in the lounge. There they give you a hot towel and a drink and then explain the resort. After that, they blast you with a 45 min talk on your implied interest in buying a time share and how they will offer you a 2nd excursion if you partake in a "presentation". We said no repeatedly but it took over an hour for the lady to clue in. After a 6 hour plane ride we were pretty exhausted and just wanted our room key. The second thing to be prepared for is the entitled staff and their continual pressure to tip. They bring you a little book with the "bill" at the end of every meal similar to a regular restaurant but the total is zeroed out. But there is a line on it for tip. Sorry but I'm not going to tip the breakfast waiter every morning because he poured me a coffee. Their negative attitude was visible if you didn't tip. We always tipped both the pool waiter and the beach waiter Francesco as he was awesome and actually deserved the tip. The third thing to be prepared for is if you are travelling to Mexico in the Summer are the locals that are vacationing at the resort as well. We did feel at times that we were not really considered the present if you know what I mean.

Can't Wait to Come Back!Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: Private plunge pool. Portions were small so no food waste, but you could order more if still hungry.
Cons: Beds could be more plush and low water pressure makes rinsing long hair a bit of a chore.
Location: Plenty of nearby activity including zip line, surfing, diving, night life, island exploring, dolphin encounters, etc.
Beautiful property; excellent attentive staff, delicious food and drink, never felt crowded. I could go on and on but suffice it to say that we were pleasantly surprised that for once the reality of a property exceeded the hype. If it hadn't been for the hard beds and somewhat low water pressure the room comfort rating would have been 5 stars as well. Don't let those little things dissuade you however, because this place is magnificent. All day shuttles back and forth from the other property (those restaurants also included) so you have a nearly endless variety of food. Private beach is also just a 3 minute shuttle ride away. By shuttle I mean a comfortable oversized golf cart, not a bus. Fantastic place to relax. Concierge will take care of scheduling and booking any activity you might like. The spa is top notch.

Pros: The rooms, the food and the staff
Cons: Pool hours
Location: Little far from the city but very relaxing.
All of their staff seemed to know us after the 1st day. Made us feel at home. Great service and food. Top of the line service. The whole hotel was in a good mood which shows they are happy with their job.

Experiment with All-Inclusive Resort Hit and MissPosted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Room, view, some of the included food.
Cons: Responsiveness of staff could have been better. There were a number of annoying things that happened that could have been better. AC leak, door issues
Location: The companion resort has all the amenities, so went there just about every day for some reason. Pool and food was good. Other site has beach, etc.
Splurged and took the family on an all-inclusive resort vacation to Marival Residences in Nuevo Vallarta. Had only a 5-day vacation, so we wanted all-inclusive for the luxury and ability to simply relax and not have to think or worry about anything. Room was INCREDIBLE! Upgraded to two-bedroom family with ocean view. Stunning. The "room" was actually larger in square footage than our first house! Furnishings were comfy enough (beds were a bit on the firm side). Main issue with the room was the AC unit in the master bedroom leaked (water, I hope) which was not adequately cleaned up and gave a musty/moldy smell the last two days we were there. Food was really hit or miss. Options were good, with two restaurants to choose from on-site, and at least a few more at the other property which was included and convenient (5 min golf cart ride). Buffet at the other location was better. Breakfast was best off the menu rather than buffet. Lunch was overall just so-so. Dinners were quite good - easily best meals of the day. Included excursion was nice. We chose the day trip which was nice, but long. Obvious kick-back relationships with jeweler, restaurant (lunch) and tequila maker, but was still good. Lunch was fantastic - second-best single experience of the trip (second only to the dolphin/sea lion experience the kids got). Takeaway - good experience, but probably won't do all-inclusive again. Prefer to have more/better choices than to have worry-free mediocrity.
