Nothing worth raving about - no working shower.

Pros: The night clerk was lovely - very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable.
We checked in late in the evening - about 10:30 pm or so. Exhausted, we went in search of some food. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful in trying to locate something still open at that time of night. After chasing down some Bojangles nearby, we all crashed. In the morning, we're all lined up to shower and discover that the shower doesn't work! There is a sticker on the shower wall, old and faded, that describes the process in getting the showerhead to work. We tried, but there was just a trickle. There was also no shower curtain in our room. We had already been downstairs to breakfast (standard continental breakfast, nothing too fancy, lots of stale breads mostly) and needed to get on the road so we all washed up as much as we could in the small tub and headed out. We let the front desk person know that our room had a broken shower and she just responded that there was a trick to it. We explained that we tried that and that there was no shower curtain up there so we really think the shower was inoperable. She just smiled and told us that, since we'd paid through Expedia that we were all set to go. She did mumble something about the shower curtain being forgotten about while I was putting my credit card back into my bag. Okie dokie. Not being able to shower after hours of driving in the VA summer heat was not a good experience and I was a little surprised that the hotel didn't offer some sort of compensation. We'll try the Marriott next time.

Had attended a family reunion in the area and this was the perfect place for us. We then were well rested for our three plus hour trip home the next morning. Just what two seventy five year olds needed. Ha!Roo

We always stay here when are in the area. The quality of the room is great and is close proximity of Boydton where we are visiting family.

I got about 50$ cheap deal with the Comfort Inn in Raleigh, NC. They had wonderful room equipped with better technologies, had two sofas and tea table. It had other better amenities in the room than I could find at Hampton Inn in South Hill, VA. I had a choice to stay at Comfort Inn in South Hill and the hotel was about 300 feet from Hampton Inn, but I gave Hampton Inn a try based on reviews even though it was a little expensive. But it did not met my expectation even with higher price.
