Disappointing experience altogether

Posted Aug 16, 2017
We found a live cockroach in our room the first night. It was a huge one too! The hotel lobby was not air conditioned nor were there any fans to circulate the air in this humid climate. Our group was sweating the whole time. The swim up pool was gross and dirty. The outside grill had burgers and hotdogs just sitting outside with flies all over them. They were hard and crusty

Amazing Trip

Posted Aug 11, 2017
Pros: Swim up bar, spa, hotel activities
Location: great location! love that it's close to downtown PV
My boyfriend and I went for 5 days, and we had the most amazing vacation. The weather was perfect (which was a pleasant surprise since we went during rainy season.), the pool was the perfect temperature, and the hotel and amenities were incredible. The location is perfect. It's about a 10 minute drive to the downtown, so exploring the area isn't too much of a hassle. The only "problem" is that the beach is kind of rocky, so we spent more time in the pool than on the beach, but all things considered it wasn't an issue. 10/10 would recommend!

Loved it!

Posted Aug 9, 2017
Pros: food, pools, room Everything looked really nice. Very high end and the service was excellent. Cons: Men cannot wear a sleeveless shirt to any restaurant, not even to breakfast, but girls can wear whatever they want. The pools close at 8 and the swim up bar closes at 6. The ocean is rocky and rough but that has nothing to do with the resort. I really enjoyed my stay. This is probably the best resort I have been to.

I love this hotel!!!!

Posted Aug 8, 2017
The best stay ever!! The staff is superb. Great facilities. Sales staff work too hard to sell you stuff. Unnecessary and waste your time if you are not interested. If you ignore all their attempts to sell you stuff you will have a great time!!!! I was very impressed with unexpected details. They refresh your room in the afternoon. Give you mint chocolate with next day activities schedule. More towels and there is incense sticks to add ambiance to your room. I love this hotel. I will be back with friends and family.

Pools close at 8

Posted Aug 4, 2017
Overall the stay was fine I was just disappointed that the pool closed at 8. Food was fine, staff was nice, and the rooms were clean, ours had a dehumidifier which was nice but not all rooms did.

Very luxurious

Posted Jul 31, 2017
Pros: I liked the fact that we had our own private pool on the terrace of our room. Also, the fact that we were not pestered about timeshares
Cons: The only thing I can think of is that we did not are for the live music in the lobby every night. We are Hispanic and wanted to hear more lively music
Location: The fat that the neighboring hotel Now Amber was right next to us and we were free to visit heir shops and restaurants, also their pool
This was our first stay with Secrets hotels. We were very impressed with the staff, accommodations, and availability of different restaurants.

Great!

Posted Jul 26, 2017
Pros: Very friendly staff. All food was good. Preferred Club had some nice perks. Couples massage at the Spa was fabulous!
Location: Nice location on Banderas Bay. Due to humidity, we cabbed everywhere, Romantic Zone, Central Zone and Malecon.
Great location. Cheap cab rides to Romantic Zone and Malecon. Easy to walk around. All staff encountered were helpful and very friendly. Quintana at Oceana was a wonderful waiter. We ate at Oceana twice, Market Cafe and Himitsu (dining room and teppanyaki). We also like to try local, off property restaurants. I was initially disappointed upon arrival that no notes (anniversary and birthday) were in their system, even though I had emailed the concierge. Diana at Preferred Club check in was great about getting a few perks on short notice. The pool area was great, always found lounge chairs available. Saturday afternoon was a little loud, but not horrible. Guest ages were a nice mix. If there is a dehumidifier in your room, use it. Made all the difference in room comfort. Puerto Vallarta may be our new favorite over Cabo and Cancun.

Fantastic service staff

Posted Jul 24, 2017
Pros: Service Staff is awesome. Can't say enough things about the pool staff, especially Rafael. Kept me in drinks every day. Also restaurant staff.
Cons: Take no for an answer when you ask about listening to your "Vacation Club" presentation. This was my second time to this resort. Been there done that.
The only downside to coming here is they are very hard sell when you first arrive about listening to their presentation about a "Vacation Club" AKA timeshare. They won't call it a timeshare but that's what it is. Since this was my second time to this resort I already knew the routine and had no interest in hearing the presentation again. They are very pushy about getting you to commit to breakfast with one of their sales people. They tell you that it will only take 90 minutes. Since I have been through it before I already knew it takes no less than 3 hrs. I came to this resort again to just relax and enjoy myself. Not hear the sales pitch. To my own surprise I kept my cool while saying no multiple times to the offer. Normally after about 3 no's I can begin to get belligerent. But that would get me off to a bad start to my weeks stay. Its my vacation I want to spend my time how I choose. Please accept no for an answer. Surely after 3 no's people aren't interested. I spent 20 minutes telling this lady no. After getting through that process the rest of the week was fabulous. Food and drinks are great. Highly recommend the French restaurant. Great Steak and soufle. We ate there 3 times during our week stay. Service staff are all very happy and go out of their way to serve your every need and meet any special request you may have. Tipping is not required but when you do they are even more gracious. Nothing big, just a couple bucks here and there. Overall I highly recommend stayin
