Stay away from this hotel!

Posted Oct 27, 2017
I reserved a one bedroom suite through Expedia. Upon check-in, we were given a key to our room. When we came in we found out that we have a 2 bedroom suite. We thought that all rooms they had were like that or we got an upgrade for free, because we came with 2 kids escaping from fire and smoke in the Bay Area and it was a favor to us as victims of the smoke in the Bay Area. Nobody told us that we would get an upgraded room or that this particular room would cost additional money. We stayed there for 3 nights, again nobody told us anything during our stay. Upon checking out again they didn't tell anything about extra charge or something. When we came home we discovered from or bank account that the hotel charged us additional 250$. I called to the hotel after long wait and multiple transfers I were told that the charge was made for an upgrade to 2 bedroom suite. I was also told that they contacted us multiple times asking us to leave the room and we refused to do so, that's why they charged us. This was a lie, nobody contacted us. Nobody told us that we needed to leave the room. Nobody discussed with us that this room costs more and addinional charge would be made. We never signed any check for any upgrade, they simply charged us without notifying us. During my multiple calls to the hotel I asked to speak with the hotel meneger, who was never awailable even during business hours. I left voice messages 2 times to the maneger asking to contact me, they never called me.

We have attempted to mediate your unhappiness with the resort from the time you checked in. You were upset at check in because we had no complimentary upgrades available. You asked to see a room "before accepting a room here". At that time you were given a single use key for viewing the accommodations. You moved into the room and the lock-off next door, expanding your one bedroom booking into a two bedroom suite. You were instructed that was not your room and asked to move your things, which you refused. A 2 bedroom suite would have been $238/night. Due to your refusal to vacate the additional room, we charged you an upgrade fee of $75/night, over $40 LESS than the nightly rate. Despite your claims that no one contacted you, you were contacted: By the front desk on 10/16 at 1:38pm By the front desk on 10/16 at 2:37pm By the front desk manager on 10/17 at 11:26am Finally notified by the front desk manager that you would be charged the $75 per night fee for 3 nights with no refund on 10/17 at 11:29am.

Great resort. Wish we had stayed longer. There are multiple buildings. Do ask for the Plaza (which overlooks the valley)

Hidden Gem in South Lake Tahoe!

Posted Oct 13, 2017
Pros:
The Ridge is a hidden gem in the mountains of South Lake Tahoe. The facility has everything from tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, to complimentary shuttles to the Casinos. I have stayed in most of the hotels near the casinos, and this is one of my favorites so far. It's close to the casinos, yet you're tucked away in the mountains with gorgeous views. I would highly recommend staying here.

Best room/hotel ever

Amazing experience. Great hotel, awesome staff, best room we’ve stayed in by far, on any family getaway. Kids loved the pool, spa was great (massage). My only complaint would be the outside of our windows were pretty dirty which obstructed the amazing views of the valleys below.

Tahoe Road Trip

Posted Oct 3, 2017
Pros: Room was nicely upgraded and alluring. .
Cons: Remotes for sleep number bed was not visible and a call to housekeeping was needed to inflated mattress. Remote & instructions be placed on bed.
Location: You are in 7,400 feet elevation. Clear view of towns below and snow capped mountain tops.
Friendly staff, awesome food, beautiful views. The small shop is packed with goodies and priced reasonable.

Great location near the lake and rural Nevada

Posted Sep 30, 2017
Pros: Neat, clean, quiet, and great people that work there.
Cons: I would like to see all rooms have A/C.
Location: The obvious Lake Tahoe, casinos, restaurants, but we also have spent time in Minden and other old Nevada towns.
We came to celebrate our anniversary and enjoyed our stay immensely. The off season rates were great and the staff upgraded our room to a suite and gave us a complimentary breakfast. We always enjoy our stay at the Ridge and are happy we became owners.
