The best thing is that is close to the beach.

Pros: The front desk staff was nice and the location of the hotel.
Cons: The room furniture/electronics could be improved and the WIFI intenet speed was very slow,
Location: The location is great. Can find many stores and restaurants in walking distance.
What I like the most was that it was close to the beach. The room was not that great. I reserved the room with view to the beach but a palm tree was blocking my view.

Pros: The number one priority of this hotel are the guest
Cons: The beds and pillows are not Plushy but that is something very minor. Having their guest wear wristbands for the pool to eliminate non-hotel guest.
Location: Excellent location, walking distance to near by shops and places to eat.
Isla Grand has been the best experience my family has had over all. We have had our vacations at S. Padre for the past 3 or 4 years and have always had a great time but the resort we had been staying at has gone down in service, cleanliness the food in the hotel is terrible we had other issues in the room they could not fix, their was a musty awful smell in the elevators and hall ways, the pool area is always running out of towels. We have found a new home with Isla Grand Beach Resort!

Nice pool. Access to the beach was great. I order a giant tortilla for breakfast (it's on the breakfast menu in the room) it was fabulous. We cut it up and 2 adults and three small kids are the one I ordered. We had an issue with the sound on our tv on day three of our stay. We called room service at 9:00 am a maintainance man literally showed up in like 5 min. He rolled the mini fridge out and had it fixed in literally 5 min. Hamburgers at the Hungry surfer were great as well.

Close to beach

Posted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: Very close to beach, you need to walk through white sandy beach....I saw they are building a board-walk. Should be available pretty soon.
Cons: Microwave for Cabana rooms. Coffee maker and some water bottles
Location: Dolphin watch at Port Isabel Turtle inc. White sandy beach......
Stayed 2 nights late August 2015. We came around 3pm, and they had few cabana rooms ready for check-in before the regular 4pm check in time. Cons first: Front desk staff was not inviting and not sure the exact word, may be detached, not-excited!! If you are thinking of renting at Isla with family, beware that they don't have Microwave or coffee makers in their Cabana rooms. You need to rent their condos (I believe these are very expensive). So I'm not sure why they cannot offer Microwave in the cabana rooms. This is the first time I had such an experience in hotel/motels in US. Most places I stayed courteous enough to bring one to room (if not available in the room) if requested. What they said to us to go to the restaurant if we require to heat the food. We got a room in the corner of the other end and they want us to run to the front restaurant to heat the food??? Specially if you have kids and you want to heat your milk in the morning??? Liers, they want us to spend our money in their restaurant instead I guess...... Sleep-number beds, Yikes. This is the second bad experience after our stay at Radisson at Corpus Christi with these mattress. I'm not sure why they cannot have regular mattresses. I hate these mattresses so I'll stop there. Worst wifi ever. not working, turtle slow Pros: Room service is awesome. They regularly cleaned the towels and made the bed. The beach. pretty clean, white sand. Not too crowed during weekdays. Sorry, we never stay here again

Great location, needs renovation.

Posted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: Location that's it.
Cons: Cleaning, updating invest some money and charge more.
Location: no comments
Check in was really bad as we waited 45 minutes after 3pm to be check in, front desk was not friendly at all, beds were hard, very uncomfortable and shower was old, the place needs some help updating and cleaning, well to top it all they placed a guest with a dog next door, the very irresponsible people left the dog caged alone all day, the dog was howling until we were ready to go to bed I contacted the manager he did all he could to reach out the owners, unsuccessfully he then offered us to change rooms that was some kind of a hassle, at that time we chose to check out and leave to a different place.

Pros: beach view, food live music
Cons: $$
Location: It is South Padre Island..summer fireworks, wáter sports, great restaurants...How can you miss?
Nice hotel and beach view. excellent breakfast buffet (coffee costs exra?!). Live band in the quarterdeck lounge was good. EVERYTHING was very pricey from the room to drinks to the beach unbrella!
