It's okay

The hotel is in need of remodeling and update. The way they advertise is deceiving as they show the nice swimming pool of the hotel next door which gives the impression it's part of this hotel but it's not! The best thing about this hotel is the beach and outdoor grill cafeteria!!

Super disappointed and sad

Where do I begin? My family has stayed at this hotel multiple times over the years. This time around we even brought more family with is and booked extra rooms. Sadly, after this experience, we will never stay here again. Let's start with the false emergency alarms that mysteriously sound in the middle of the night when all of our children are asleep. During our stay, there were a total of 9 alarms. Nine. We panicked with the first one, woke up all the babies, rushed down flights of stairs with them in our arms as well as helping our elderly parents only to be told by other random guests that it was a false alarm. Where were your managers? Where were the explanations, the apologies? We excused all this with the first alarm. You didn't cancel the alarm in time and most of your guests made it down. But how can we continue to excuse it when it happens EIGHT MORE TIMES? At the very least, you can have speakers in the stairwells to let the guests know it's false. Or have a manager at the bottom of the stairwell alerting guests. Anything. We got nothing. And housekeeping. Ugh. They did an extremely shoddy job of cleaning the rooms. Our sheets had easy-to-get-out stains which makes me think the sheets were never washed and we had the ones from the previous guests. *As I write this at 12:23am, another false alarm just went off.* Next night, sheets were again not changed. The glasses were never changed. The rooms were never ready before 3:00.

Dear guest I understand your frustration about the alarm, I personally was at the Hotel at the time of the first alarm and the time it was cleared by the fire department, it is true that it went again and again as the staff was trying to fix the issue. Alarms are set up for one reason which is safety, not sure if you saw what happen in England in a building, the fire alarm didn't work, at least in our case it was a false alarm, it is true it is inconvenient and I regret it and we do apologize again for it. Beware! Picture of Condos are deceiving.

Pros: Pool, staff, convenience of the little shopping store.
Cons: Please make it clear that the Condos are privately owned. Share pics of rooms so that we know what we are reserving.
Location: We loved The Painted Marlin Grill. Great food and atmosphere.
When we arrived we were so excited to check-in. We entered our room (1205 & 1206) and were aghast at the ugliness of the outdated room. It was as if we stepped into an old Motel 6. The furniture looked like it was picked up from a Goodwill. The beds were elevated on this platform which made it hard to get up. My parents had to use their suitcase. The lights were barely working in the bathroom. The ceiling had rust and stains. Walls were banged up. The kitchen was from the 70's. We just couldn't stay in that room. Thankfully after talking with the staff, they moved us to an amazing room. We were able to enjoy our stay and loved our view. I'm giving this a bad rating because I felt deceived by the advertisements. I learned that all the condos are privately owned. Had I known that then I would have gone a different route reserving our room. We would not have rented room 1205 and 1206. We lost 24 hours trying to get ourselves situated in another room. Thankfully, the hotel comped us 20% but to think that they would even put a family in that room is beyond me. Please be careful when reserving a condo there. I would suggest you call the hotel directly and ask for a room facing the pool. I think this is the best view. Also, when I did call the hotel weeks before our arrival, no one answered, You have to call them when is not during check-in/check-out time. We did enjoy the rest of our stay after all of this was resolved. So because of the staff helping us, I do recommend Pearl.

Yes close to beach

Lobby looked great, but was very uncomfortable, bed was completely worn out, 3rd floor were or room was had a sewage problem and the smell was , well it's was the last nite or we would have moved another hotel. Never again. Management bring their families and stay a night on the 3rd floor

Dear Fred Our apology for not meeting your expectations I understand your frustration, we are working to fix all issues and listening to all guests feedback. concerning the Management bringing their family for a night, I do not understand your comments and I appreciate if you explain more about this particular concerns. Our Hotel is part of a big chain (more than 700 Hotels) and employees of the chain have access to the reservation system. I do have a brother who is a Doctor and he get free doctor visit, the veterans get discounts everywhere, if you are acity bus driver, you have a free pass for the city bus...unfortunately in the hotel business they still pay big bucks especially in high season. Excellent location

My wife and I stayed here 3 nights. It was an awesome location, the staff was really great. The building is just an older building that needs some updates. It is a great spot if you have kids!! They are very kid friendly which I liked a lot even though we don't have kids. It was great to see the hotel staff let the kids be kids. The buffet was awesome which is saying a lot for us because we don't like buffets. The price of beer is outrageous. $7.58 for one. Over all for the money it's a good place.

Lovely hotel on the beach with beach view.

Pros: It is on the quite side of the island, which we enjoy. If you are looking for something more party like, go to the north side.
Cons: The housekeeping, cleanliness of the room and deck.
Location: Beach, boating, restaurants, shops, fishing, golfing, pool, sunset cruises!
We had a wonderful time. Room could be a bit cleaner and neater. The cleaning staff is either over worked (they forgot to do our room one day) or they are not given enough instruction on what to do and how to do it. I would definitely return.

Room was extremely sub par. Beds were awful!! Lights were out, and lock was broken to main door. Saving grace was the weather which made the pool (completely shaded after 2:30 due to adjacent condos) and beach great. Definitely will NOT be coming back to this hotel.

The location was perfect, staff was great but our room smelled a bit dingy throughout our whole stay. There was also no vent in the restroom...I think our next stay will more than likely be at a different hotel.

Picked the hotel because of the swimming pool.

Pros: We loved the gift shop. Had all one needed for purchasing last minute items and gifts. We enjoyed our pool time and the restaurant met our needs.
Cons: Check-in was very slow. Need more staff at check-in. For a smoke-free environment, there were people smoking around the pool -need monitoring.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Pearl. Everything was laid back.
